Killer Whale Watching Safari Pre-Cruise Hotel
Start your adventure before you even board the cruise ship! The waters around Vancouver are visited by about 80 Orca whales every summer. Here's your chance to see these intelligent animals up close while experiencing the Vancouver area from a different perspective.
Your day begins with a visit to Granville Island, a post-manufacturing city-turned-tourist-hotspot on a peninsula just off Vancouver's shores. You will have a couple of hours to explore the island and its highlights, including the extensive marina and numerous shopping areas. Meander through the stalls at Granville Island Public Market and marvel at the artisan foods, fine arts, and handicrafts.
From there it's time to commence whale watching! Board the boat and ride to the whale-watching area with a trained naturalist who will explain the area's ecosystem. Be sure to have your camera and binoculars available. With the Gray and Humpback whales also making appearances (spring and fall), your chances of seeing whales during your safari tour are 85 percent. Along the way, you will likely encounter other marine life such as dolphins, sea lions, bald eagles, and seals before your return to your hotel.
Reserve your spot now for a fun day of whale watching that you will remember for years to come. It is suggested that you bring sun protection plus a warm sweater or jacket due to windy conditions.
Please Note: Your 3-5 hour, family-friendly tour is available from April to October. Guests should be physically fit, and be able to enter and exit transportation. No wheelchair access is available.
