Visit the local town of La Noria for a taste of the real Mexico, its traditions, and its tequila.
Set off on a 25 minute drive heading north and admire the amazing view of endless fields of blue agave. Head to a beautiful 19th century hacienda, which is now a popular tequila distillery. The view here is splendid; a huge Huanacaxtle tree frames and shadows this mystical hacienda. No rustic tour of Mexico would be complete without gaining a firsthand understanding of how tequila is made. Learn how locals ferment and distill this important plant into tequila.
You'll also visit La Noria, a nearby colonial town, where you can learn how local artisans fashion leather in to a range of products including belts, saddles, and sandals. You'll also see how local pottery and furniture are made. Book your spot today!

Our tour guides were fun and personable, Suzanna and Victor. Suzanna made sure we had fun and information. We had a great lunch in a little neighborhood cafe. But we had a little problem, there was no one to greet us when came off the ship. The other tour guides told us to wait in the area off to the side. Someone finally showed up 1/2 hour late, but the tour was great.
We took advantage of this Vista Tours excursion during a Princess Mexican Riviera cruise in May 2016. We really enjoyed the whole tour - agave plantation, visiting back country towns/artisan shops, a unique and delightful restaurant, and the countryside drive. Our tour guide was excellent and knew the tour and sights very well.
