Restrictions Guests must be able to get in and out of transportation. Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, many of which are uneven and/or on an incline. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Meet your local, friendly and English-speaking guide at the pier area and begin with a drive to Estrela Basilica, where you'll board your tram and set off for a leisurely, approximately 45 minutes tour of Lisbon's famous seven hills. It will pass the Parliament Building, Bairro Alto District, the Downtown and the Se Cathedral, which sits in the heart of the Alfama district, and is the oldest church in town. Marvel at the Moorish architecture and delightful narrow streets that are unique to this historic district (guests will be riding the tram on their own, and your guide will be waiting for you in Graca).

From here, continue to Belem District and take some time to visit the Church of the 16th century Jeronimos Monastery, an awe-inspiring building that blends Moorish and Gothic styles. You will also have the chance to try one of the city's local treats, a Pasteis de Nata de Belem, a creamy and delectable custard cup.

Get by the riverside to admire the Monument to the Discoveries, which sits on the banks of the Tagus, and commemorates Portugal's maritime history. Shaped like a prow of a ship, this monument is hard to miss, and even harder to forget.

Follow to the four-story Belem Tower, a unique chalk-colored prison and fort that was built to defend the harbor. It was declared a World Heritage site of interest by UNESCO, and is an exotic blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Moorish architecture.

Other sights of interest your guide will point out to you along the way include the Alto do Parque Belvedere, a beautiful park offering splendid views of the city, the Avenue of Liberty, Pombal Square and Rossio Square.

The remainder of your tour will be by van or motor coach and during your drive along the Tagus River, pass under the 25th of April suspension bridge, which offers distant views of Christ the King monument, before passing by Commerce or Trade Square, as you make your way back to the port area.

If you wish to continue with some free time for souvenir shopping, you may choose to remain in the town and return to your ship later in the day on your own and at your own expense.
