Lovcen National Park
Lovcen National Park
Skip the large, crowded bus tours and join this small-group expedition to Lovcen National Park for a more personal, intimate experience.
You will leave the city of Kotor via comfortable transportation on a panoramic road and wind through 25 serpentines across the slopes of Mount Lovcen while you gaze out over Kotor Bay. Reach the peak of the mountain to visit the mausoleum of Petar II Petrovic Njegos, a poet and one of the more important rulers in Montenegrin history. Then it's an (easy) 461 steps up to the humble chapel where Petar II's relics are lain to note the panoramic views of over 60% of Montenegrin territory from 1660 meters above sea level.
Step back aboard your transportation and travel next to the quaint village of Njegusi with its old stone homes and smokehouses. Pay a visit to a local host who will share a tasting of the region's famous prosciutto, cheeses, homemade wine, and brandy. Step into the smokehouse to see how these products are prepared, then slowly make your way back to port with several stops for sightseeing and photo opportunities.
You will also have the option to enjoy a zip-line descent with amazing views of Kotor Bay (additional fee).
