A Day in Monaco
A Day in Monaco
Departing from the cruise pier in Monte Carlo with your driver / guide and a group of no more than eight, you will drive to the hilltop medieval town of Eze, approximately 30 minutes away. During the drive, your driver / guide will point out what you are seeing. A stop will be made to take photos of this charming village clinging to the cliff side, and its magnificent views overlooking the French Riviera. There will also be approximately 30 minutes for those brave enough to make the climb.
A stop will be made to visit the nearby perfume factory Fragonard, which has been producing scents for more than three generations.
A scenic drive will be taken through the hillside village of La Turbie, for a photo stop at the Trophy of the Alps.
Then, drive to the luxurious Principality of Monaco, where you will drive directly to the old town and enjoy an exterior visit to the Royal Prince Palace before walking to the Cathedral, where you will have an interior visit.
You will then have approximately 3 hours of free time to purchase lunch, visit the oceanographic museum, tour more of the city via the motorized sightseeing "train" or browse the many shops.
At the appointed time and location, you will meet your driver who will then drive to the Casino Square for a brief stop for photos of the exterior of the casino and enjoy time to view the gardens. This will be followed with a drive along a portion of the Monte Carlo Grand Prix circuit as you make your way back to the pier area.
A very interesting tour with a knowledgeable driver/guide. We arrived in time to see the changing of the guards at the palace, and then there was time to explore the city, have lunch, and visit the cathedral where the burial site of Princess Grace is located. The Casino and the area around it was amazing.

The best part about this excursion was that we were just 8 tourists and the guide. It was wonderful to have such a personal touch. Even though we were in a minivan, the guide still needed a microphone as the guests in the back could not hear her. She needed to keep her eyes on the road & it was difficult for her to keep turning her head to project her voice. The content of the trip was perfect. We LOVED the little town of Eze! So quaint. Since we are F1 fans it was very cool to see the race being set up & to drive on part of the track. It would be helpful if there were instructions on how to dress for the Casino & that there is a cover charge, so that guests could be prepared in advance.

The excursion was well organized. The tour guide was EXCELLENT!!! She explained everything to us as we moved from place to place. She was a real public servant. Your tour company rendered a great and educational service. I also liked it because the group was small and that allowed for more personal sightseeing. Again, she rendered a great service!!!
