Start your excursion in the morning when you meet your guide at the Muscat Port gate. From there you will be driven to the Grand Mosque, which is an architectural masterpiece. This world famous mosque is considered one of the most popular attractions in Muscat due to its historic value and impressive design.

After visiting the Grand Mosque, your friendly guide will drive you through the ministries area, where modern buildings with hints of Islamic architecture combine to reflect the complex heritage of Muscat. At the bustling fish market, you'll get to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Muscat. As you make your way to the ever popular Muttrah souk, the exotic smells of spices, perfumes, and coffees fill the air. This grand outdoor market offers crafts, produce, and jewelry, making the souk an ideal place to pick up souvenirs.

Comfortable lightweight summer clothing and walking shoes is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats and some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight. The United Arab Emirates has conservative dress traditions. Swimwear must be confined to the beach and hotel pools. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops/malls and villages. Mosque Visit Dress Code: Loose long trousers or long skirts and long sleeves. No shorts for men, no tight and/or transparent clothing. Women must cover their head with a scarf.
Must be able to get in/out of vehicle. Normal tourist photography is acceptable, but it is considered offensive to photograph Arab women. It is also courteous to ask permission before photographing men. Photographs of government buildings, police or military installations are not allowed.
