North Shore Turtle Bay Experience

Waimea Bay is very popular amongst locals and tourists alike and home to the infamous Eddie Aikau Big Wave surf competition. Discover one of the most famous beaches in the world when it comes to big wave surfing and a must visit when venturing up to the Oahu's North Shore. During the winter months the waves can become massive and big wave surfers from around the world will flock to the Waimea Beach swells to give it a go. Then during the summer months, you will find locals snorkeling and doing backflips off Waimea Beach rock. A trip to the North Shore wouldn't be the same without stopping here and seeing this beautiful place for yourself.

Make a stop to quench your thirst with a fresh coconut, try some fresh cut mangos, or a popular Hawaiian-Filipino desert called lumpia. Find a North Shore fruit stand offering an assortment of treats that will please everyone's sweet tooth.

Next up is Sunset Beach, home to the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, the epitome of a beautiful Hawaiian beach. Just like Waimea Bay, during the summer months, Sunset Beach is also known to pump perfect waves attracting surfers from around the world.

Now that you have worked up an appetite, find what the North Shore is also famous for, shrimp stands. Italy is famous for pasta, Mexico has its tacos, and the North Shore has their famous Garlic Shrimp. Farmed fresh and sauteed in large pans daily, the North Shore Shrimp trucks do not disappoint when it comes to their shrimp delicacies. Other non-shell fish food options are available.

See Chinaman's Hat and the Kualoa Mountain Range as your day continues. Chinaman's Hat, also known as Mokolii, is nestled right next to the Kualoa Mountain range, known for its dramatic landscape filmed in the movie Jurassic Park.
