Exclusive Old and New Tallinn Highlights

For guests looking to see a lot in a short time, this group tour of Tallinn, Estonia offers a great alternative. You will see Tallinn's highlights with our professional guide.

You will be driven in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle along the seaside, where you will see the famous Russalka monument. Tsar Nicholas commissioned the monument as memorial to the crew of a ship, Russalka, which sank in the Gulf of Finland in 1893. Following local tradition, couples are often wed here. You will also have an exterior visit to the magnificent grounds of the summer residence of Peter the Great - Kadriorg Palace, built in 1718. Today the beautifully red-and-white-adorned palace is home to Estonia's president, as well as the foreign art collection of the Estonian Art Museum.

Going further, you'll visit one of the most inspirational places for Estonians - The Song Festival Ground. You'll also drive to the seaside and the beach, and admire the Olympic Village from the 1980 Summer Olympic Games.

Next, you will visit Tallinn's Old Town. Your walking tour will do a circle around the Old Town, where you'll see the church that, in the 16th century, was the highest building in the world. You'll get to know Estonian history by walking along ancient city walls and towers, and walk up steps to reach the highest point in Tallinn - The Dome Hill (Toompea). There you can see the contrast between the exterior of the Estonian Parliament building and the Russian Orthodox church Aleksander Nevski that stands across from it.

Returning to the Lower Town, you'll be able to see the street that lived through the devastation of bombing in 1944. Further along, you'll end up in the most historically significant square - Raekoja Square - in the heart of Old Town. After answering any questions you might have about additional sightseeing, shopping or sampling some local cuisine, your guide will give you free time to explore on your own. At the appointed time and location, you will meet for your transfer back to the cruise pier.
