Panoramic Lisbon

Enjoy visiting the highlights of Lisbon on a tour like no other! Your journey will take you to the streets and waterways as you explore the area's history and culture from different vantage points.

The excitement begins in the heart of the city's Rossio Square, where you'll meet your knowledgeable guide and set off to Restauradores Square to board the famous yellow tram known as the Elevador da Glória. This delightful tram ride takes you up to the charming Bairro Alto, known for its picturesque views, especially from the São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint.

Your tour proceeds to the remarkable Church of St. Roque, renowned for being the first Jesuit church built in the "auditorium" style to facilitate preaching. Inside are a number of chapels flanking the nave's center, including the Chapel of St. John the Baptist, first assembled in Rome with precious stones. Continue to the remains of the Carmo Convent, a site profoundly marked by its destruction during the 1755 earthquake.

The journey then takes you through Downtown Lisbon, the historical and commercial heart of the city. In the enchanting Alfama District, you'll be captivated by the architecture and history of the Lisbon Cathedral, an ancient city treasure. Then it's on to Praça do Comércio, one of Europe's most magnificent squares, that once hosted foreign monarchs and dignitaries visiting Portugal.

Next, your adventure transitions to an engaging bike ride to Belém, a district honoring Portugal's historical navigators. Follow along scenic, flat paths paralleling the Tagus River, where you'll see the iconic April 25th Bridge and marvel at the modern MAAT Museum. Upon reaching Belém, you'll visit the renowned 16th century Jerónimos Monastery with its exquisite Manueline-style artwork. Of course, your journey would not be complete without indulging in the traditional egg custard tart at the famous Pastéis de Belém pastry shop founded in 1837 (not included).

Continuing on, your guide will lead you to the Belem Tower, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity site known for its 16th century role in protecting the city from maritime threats. Wrap up your time in Belém with a serene boat ride along the Tagus River, your tranquil voyage leading you back to Praça do Comércio, where you conclude this adventure through Lisbon's history and captivating landmarks.
