Begin this private tour by meeting your exclusive guide and embarking to your first destination. As you are comfortably driven through scenic streets, marvel at the stunning architecture in the Manga residential area, a luxurious neighborhood where some mansions have been restored to their historic splendor. Make a stop at the Gold Museum where you will encounter a miniature version of Bogota's world-class gold museum, Museum del Oro. Though small, it offers a fascinating collection of the gold and pottery of the Zenu (also known as Sinu) people, who inhabited the region of the present-day departments of Bolivar, Cordoba, Sucre and northern Antioquia before the Spanish Conquest. Some pieces are exquisitely detailed.
Enjoy a brief photo-stop at the Fort of San Felipe de Barajas, a 17th century site considered the most important work of Spanish Military engineering in South America. Afterward, head to Las Bovedas (The Dungeons) for about 20 minutes of local handicraft shopping. Enjoy the wonderful architecture and history of this landmark before continuing to your remaining destinations.
Visit the Church of San Pedro Claver (outside visit only) for a fascinating history lesson. Spanish-born monk Pedro Claver was nicknamed the "Slave of the slaves" for his lifetime work spent ministering slaves brought from Africa. After this historic landmark, arrive at the Naval Museum, opened in 1992 on the 500th anniversary of Colombus' discovery of the New World.
Your private guide returns you to port, passing through the scenic Bocagrande and Castillo Grande residential areas where you can view the magnificent streets and squares and admire the beautiful balconies.

Thorough, interesting. We drove through much of old town, and stopped to walk to certain points of interest.

The private tour of Cartegena was everything promised in the description and more. We were a large group of 24 and our guide Cesar kept us moving at a fast pace so we could see more of the city. He was so knowledgable and fun to be around. We were in Cartegena on a day of political unrest and Cesar changed up the order of the tour so we would never be in areas where we felt unsafe. Everyone had a great time.

There were 8 of us, traveling together, that booked this tour. We needed to walk a short distance to the entrance to the pier, as only ship excursion vehicles are allowed on the pier. Tour representatives were easy to spot, and our tour began on time. Our tour guide was Ed Fuentes. He was very knowledgeable and personable. It was easy to hear what he was talking about due to the small size of our group. He was sensitive to the amount of time we wanted to spend at the various stops, while making sure we got back to the ship when we wanted to. Traffic was pretty busy, so it was important he allowed enough time. I would highly recommend this tour!

We were met by our guide right at the pier and walked to our air conditioned van. Our driver and guide were very accommodating even when we wanted to make an extra shopping stop or spend more time shopping. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour. Lovely city, knowledgeable guide. Could have skipped the emerald "museum" which was mainly a store. Would have been valuable to have more time on your own to eat some local food
