Private City Highlights

Take full advantage of this wonderful opportunity to book your private tour while in Singapore and be introduced to the highlights of this fascinating city with a local, knowledgeable professional guide.

You will be met directly at the cruise pier by your local English-speaking guide who will help you to your private, comfortable air-conditioned transportation and then you will be on your way to discover some of the special highlights of a city like no other.

Your tour will commence with a visit to the Thian Keng Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist Taoist temples. Be amazed as you take in the remarkable architecture in the traditional southern Chinese style. Look specifically for the detailed carvings and sculptures of dragons, phoenixes, and deities, as well as the colorful broken porcelain on the roofs, a Fujian decorating technique. Discover how not a single nail was used in the original construction of the temple, which is now a national monument and managed by the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan.

Next on the day's agenda is to drive past Chinatown, stopping at a local handicraft center where you will be able to observe craftsmen at work. This is the perfect opportunity to shop for authentic souvenirs for yourself or also for friends and family back home.

Continue to the National Orchid Garden located within Singapore Botanical Garden, which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. Since 1859, orchids have been closely associated with the Gardens. The products of the Gardens' orchid breeding program, which began in 1928, deserve a place where they can be displayed in their full splendor. The very design of these orchids is, one could say, 'handcrafted' by the Gardens' horticultural staff, dedicated to bringing out the finest in any hybrid cross. With over 2000 hybrids on display, the grandeur of these gorgeous blooms is absolutely a sight to behold, have your camera ready!

The final stop will be in the area known as Little India, a blast of sights and scents will greet you the moment you enter this ethnic precinct and perhaps have some leisure time to the souvenir shop. Little India is an ethnic district in Singapore and is located east of the Singapore River, across from Chinatown, located west of the river and north of Kampong Glam. Both areas are part of the urban planning area of Rochor. Little India is commonly known as Tekka in the Indian Singaporean community.

All too soon it will time to make your way back to the pier area and your ship, but you will leave Singapore with incredible memories of the sights and sounds of this metropolis that you will cherish for years to come.

Please Note: The entrance fee to the National Orchid Garden is not included in the tour price, approximate cost is $4.00USD per person. The itinerary is subject to change according to the cruise arrival and departure time as well as the traffic conditions on any given day.
