Private Dominica Favorites
Dominica is quite an island; discover why on this private tour of Emerald Pool and Trafalgar Falls, departing in the afternoon after the cruise line mobs from the morning have gone away.
Your tour begins as you proceed to the Trois Pitons National Park (a UNESCO Certified National Park) to visit the Emerald Pool. To reach the pool, there is a 20-minute walk with your guide over packed dirt with some inclines. Once at the pool you may choose to take pictures of the 40-foot waterfall, take a quick dip, or just enjoy the beauty of this tropical rainforest.
From the Emerald Pool, travel through the lush countryside to the village of Trafalgar. Your first view of Trafalgar Falls will be of the top, cascading side by side out of deep gorges carved out by the falls. Guests will set out on a 20-minute walk over uneven and occasionally steep terrain, past ginger plants and vanilla orchids, to reach the falls' viewpoint, where you can enjoy the scenery and take pictures.
Upon departing Trafalgar Falls, you will drive to the Botanical Gardens for fabulous photo opportunities. Perhaps you'll even catch a glimpse of Dominica's national bird, the Sisserou Parrot, found only here in Dominica.
Following your tour, you will be returned to your ship.

We loved our private tour with "Brother". My husband and I felt very special to get our own tour of the island. We came across other tour groups that were always being rushed, but ours was relaxing and at our own pace. The ride was comfortable and Brother was very informative. Overall, a great trip!
The tour was as described and nothing was omitted. Guide and driver were knowledgeable, friendly and made sure we got full value. I would highly recommend this tour. Price a cruise ship package that provides no personal touch with a price that usually exceeds the rate of this PRIVATE TOUR!
The guide was waiting for us and ready to go. She even had an umbrella for a quick rain while we were going to hike into a forest. We loved coming to Emerald pool in the afternoon. We were the only ones there. It felt like it was just for us.
Our tour guide was Leonard Hill and was fantastic. He is highly recommended. He added local flavor and information to the sights we saw. He arrived at the pier long before he was scheduled, so perhaps he wasn't notified of the time we were told, but his attitude was still fantastic. We really enjoyed the tour. We had plenty of time to see the sights and were treated to a couple extra stops, including at a local bar where we got to try a free rum drink. Highly recommended.
