You can hire a car and driver in four hour blocks between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. If you tour in the morning, you must return by 12:30 PM to avoid additional charges; afternoon rentals must be back before 6:00 PM. Please note that your driver is not a tour guide, and each driver's grasp of the English language varies. At no point in time are guests allowed to operate the vehicle.

Comfortable lightweight summer clothing and walking shoes is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats and some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight. The United Arab Emirates has conservative dress traditions. Swimwear must be confined to the beach and hotel pools. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops/malls and villages. Mosque Visit Dress Code: Loose long trousers or long skirts and long sleeves. No shorts for men, no tight and/or transparent clothing. Women must cover their head with a scarf.
Restrictions
Must be able to get in/out of vehicle. Normal tourist photography is acceptable, but it is considered offensive to photograph Arab women. It is also courteous to ask permission before photographing men. Photographs of government buildings, police or military installations are not allowed.
