Private Perast and Risan

Your cultural day of discovery begin at the port where your local tour guide will take you on a drive along the scenic coastline to visit the small town of Risan.

Risan is considered one of the most important archaeological findings in Montenegro. Located in the innermost portion of the Bay of Kotor, tracing its origins to the ancient settlement of Rhizon, which dates to the 4th century BC, making it the oldest settlement in the Bay.

Once in Risan you will have an opportunity to visit the famous Roman mosaics. These exquisite mosaic floors date back to the 1st - 2nd century and were once the floors of the Roman Villas made with three types of pebbles, white (local), gray-blue, and black (imported).

From here, your guide will take to the small, yet beautiful, baroque fishing village called Perast. Perast is located in the heart of Boka Bay, approximately 12 kilometers from Kotor. The archaeological importance of this historic place is the remains of Neolithic culture (3500 B.C) that have been found, confirming its long existence. A boat will be waiting for you to take you to the manmade island of Our Lady of the Rocks where you will discover and see the church and museum and learn the history and origins of the island. Return to Perast and be provided approximately 30 minutes of free time to explore the town on your own.

Perast's antiquity along with the archaeological importance of Risan, provides the perfect combination of ancient history, beauty, and culture to make your day in port an unforgettable experience.
