Private Scenic Malta By Vintage Bus

Your vintage bus was one of the first two wooden bodied buses purchased in 1921 by the Cottonera Motor bus company. These buses were licensed to operate routes between Cottonera and Valletta and were made by local carpenters and mechanics. At that time, the local carpenters and mechanics were encouraged to build bus bodies so that the company Cottonera Motor Bus Co. could increase its fleet rapidly, you will find the bus is maintained in its original state.

You can arrange your very own and specific itinerary for the day as your licensed, professional and knowledgeable guide accompanies you all around the area. For example, you may decide to visit the city center of Valletta or Mdina, the old capital. To the south of Malta you can see the 3 cities, Marsaxlokk and Blue Grotto. Or you may wish to view the Megalithic temples, all of these sites can be grouped together and visited in your 4-hour tour.

You can choose to visit the Palazzo Falson, located in the heart of picturesque Mdina. This 18th Century Palace is a place of wonder that begs exploration. Stop to discover the intricate nuances of Malta's historic nobility and their enchanting way of life. While touring this stately home, you will be amazed by its grandiosity which, in turn, will guarantee to spark your imagination - whether you find yourself seeking inspiration from the Grand Ballroom, the detailed Family Chapel or the fabulous walled Gardens and Orangery.

Another option to see is Clapham Junction. Discover a prehistoric site near the Dingli Cliffs known for its puzzling and mysterious grooves on the rock called "cart ruts", a complex network of tracks gouged in the rock. Experts agree they appear to be ancient roadways of some sort, but they do not seem to have a link to the building of any of Malta's megalithic, even though they do cross the small island and are found on the higher and rockier surfaces. They can be found in abundance in the same area and beside each other where sometimes they are a single pair that go on for miles. Unfortunately, there were no written words or pictorial guide left by the Temple Builders or Cart Rut users.

Continue your journey possibly to make a drive to Buskett Gardens. These gardens, located in the fertile valley of Wied il-Luq, Siggiewi, are at their best during spring, but they offer shade from the harsh mid-summer sun and offer a quiet place for a walk in the winter months. Verdala Palace, an official residence of the President of Malta, is located on the edge of the Gardens. Once you have explored the grounds of this beautiful place, you may wish to take a quick break and enjoy delicious typical Maltese pastries or "pastizzi" while sipping on a well-deserved cup of coffee (at your own expense).

Not to be missed is making a stop at Dingli Cliffs. Located less than a kilometer to the south west of the village of Dingli, the cliffs are approximately 220 meters high and are considered the highest point in Malta. Take in the 17th Century chapel of St. Mary Magdalene and admire the tiny uninhabited islet of Filfla that can be seen from here.
