Roatan Zip, Eco Walk and Beach Break
This Roatan Triple Play is a highlight reel all by itself, combining Zipping, eco-walking and a beach break, all in one! Wow!
After meeting your driver at the pier, you will make your way to the island's West End, approximately a 30-minute drive, where your exciting, dual-cable Zip excursion awaits. Lockers are available for your beach bag ($1 US per locker. Lockers can hold more than one bag)
After suiting up for your Roatan excursion, your professional instructor will take you through Zip instruction and safety to make sure everyone is at ease before starting the adventure. Afraid of heights? Never Zipped before? This is not a problem. They will walk you through every step of the way until you are Zipping on your own.
Then it's time to Zip. On a course set out over more than 25 acres of lush Roatan scenery, you will Zip just under two miles of cable between numerous platforms. Zips range from a short 40 feet (it will surprise you) to more than 1250 feet at heights from 20 to more than 40 feet from the ground. Depending on the number in your group, your Zip time will last between 50 and 70 minutes. New or experienced, young or old, by the end, you will be wanting more. Local staff will be on hand to take pictures for those wanting to purchase "proof" they actually did it.
What goes down, must go back up. Setting out with your guide, you will set out on a walk through the raw Jungle habitat back to your starting point, walking over paved paths, wooden steps, and suspension bridges while keeping an eye out for tropical flowers, "Tarzan" vines, birds, lizards, iguanas, fruit and nut trees and amazing views. This is a great trip for photographers!
The suspension bridges have a width of four feet and a capacity for 10 people. They vary in length from 150 feet to 200 feet, making them the longest and strongest bridges in the Western Caribbean. They range in height from 20 to 85 feet above the ground. The walking portion of the tour lasts about 50 minutes and covers approximately one mile in distance, uphill.
Upon reaching the top, you will meet your driver and you will drive to the beach where you can splash in the sea at nearby West Bay. Here you will have approximately 1 1/2 hours to beach walk, swim, rent snorkel gear, or just zone out in a sunbeam under a palm tree or at the nearby beach bar and restaurant, where food and cold drinks can be purchased. Beach chairs are also available for rental. All too soon, it is time to return to reality. Your driver will meet you for the drive back to the cruise pier. Guests wishing to stay longer at the beach will be responsible for their own transportation back to the pier.
This was a great excursion! The zip line was well guided, especially for our 5 year old that was attached to a guide the entire time. For our group of 11 (including 5 children), we had 4 guides the whole time. The 12 and 10 year old could do the lines themselves the whole time, but a few of the lines required our 7 & 8 year old to have guides. Our 5 year old needed one the entire time. We never felt unsafe or scared at all! The Eco Walk was okay, we learned about the jungle and plants used for medicine, but not much wildlife was seen. They then took us to a local resort area that had a nice pool area and restaurants. The water was nice, but the beach was overrun with sea weed. We stuck to the pool that was nicely shaded and fun for the kids. Food is pricey, but if you leave the little pool area and walk down the alley next to it, there are little food vendors in the shops that will sell hotdogs, sodas, waters, etc. far cheaper than the restaurants and bars in the pool area.

We loved this tour!! It was amazing zip-lining over forests and then going back through them on the eco walk. Zipline guides were cautious, helpful, and fun. I highly recommend choosing this excursion (with the ecowalk) if you love nature or learning more about the culture (i.e. what plants they use for medicine, local animals, etc.). The beach was cute -- bring some extra money to buy bracelets, etc. if you want! Also, bring A LOT of water. They have lockers on site for your stuff during ziplining which cost $2.

Zip lines over the Roatan Jungle! Beautiful and thrilling. After bumpy 35 minute ride to top of the island, the fun started. Company is very safety conscious and my group of 3 were strapped and buckled up. Grandson (13) and I (63) were newbies and we all had a great time on 10 lengths of course. Great guides, very friendly and professional and 1 rode along with grandson for the longest lengths (1090 ft) coz he was nervous. We skipped the eco walk and went to the beach resort which was lovely. Will do again

Easily our most favorite excursion during our cruise!! The Zipline was exhilarating and our guides were hilarious!! The ecotour was beautiful, walking through the jungle while learning from our guide about the local plants and animals, we saw snakes and monkeys! The beach was very pretty and relaxing. I would highly recommend this excursion!!

A bit of a drive to get to the zip line start but Alvin, our guide, kept us informed and entertained. The multiple zip lines had 4 guys always with our group providing encouragement and assists when needed. They were willing to take our pictures whether we were right side up or upside down - an option I got to do twice. Once everyone understood the safety precautions, we were able to have many exhilarating rides over the jungle. The eco walk was a bit of a disappointment as we saw no animals or even snakes (the overhead zip lines tend to keep them away) but it was an opportunity to learn about the plants and local customs which we appreciated especially since we were the only two people on the walk. The beach break was great but not long enough. We tried to snorkel a bit there and had some luck. The main caution - there are a lot of people to tip so be prepared - I think we counted 8 people whom we tipped and were barely prepared to do that.
