Explore Roatan by Land and Sea

The island of Roatan is a full of adventure and beauty for people of all ages, and this Roatan excursion will ensure that you experience it in comfort. Take a land tour of the island followed by trip into the pristine waters of West End Bay for sightseeing and snorkeling, and experience the best that the Caribbean has to offer.

After meeting your guide, take a trip around the island in a comfortable air conditioned vehicle, visiting various communities and points of interest along the way. Your knowledgeable guide will share interesting facts and stories about the island's enthralling history and culture, allowing you opportunities to take photographs and meet some of the local people.

There are many overlooks and panoramic views that will take your breath away, and many historical sites and fun attractions to visit. There's plenty to see on the island, including cultural sites such as churches, schools, and an orphanage, as well as ample shopping venues where you can purchase souvenirs.

After the island tour, travel to West End Beach, where you will board a fifteen passenger boat and enjoy a tour of the crystal blue waters surrounding the island. A welcome beverage of rum punch or fruit punch will be provided, and you can sip it as you view magnificent homes, mighty mangrove trees, and other beautiful sights along the coast.

Following your boat tour of Roatan, see the dolphins featured at the Institute of Marine Science and watch them play in their natural ocean habitat. Later, take a swim and snorkel over the second largest barrier reef in the world. Snorkeling equipment will be provided, and a guide will show you the best snorkeling spots while assisting you with anything you need. The waters of Roatan are home to many types of coral, starfish, sea turtles, sea squid, and numerous species of fish and other marine life. You will find this underwater adventure fascinating.

Before you are returned to your ship, you will be provided with free time and a beach pass (included), allowing you to enjoy the beach after the tour is over. The pass will give you approximately 30-45 minutes to relax on the beach and access to fresh water showers, shaded areas, free wifi, and beach chairs (limited availability).

Please Note: A The light lunch included in this tour is a signature Honduras snack - baleadas. Baleadas consist of refried beans and cheese folded up in a flour tortilla like a taco. Additional options are available at the restaurant (not included).

The guide was excellent with his knowledge and history of the area. He took us around the entire island, stopping for a photo opportunity and again for souvenirs. We then proceeded to board a small boat which took us around the island. We saw dolphins and went snorkeling. Beautiful area to snorkel with many fish and coral. We then headed to a beach area where we received 2 drinks and an original island food dish for lunch. All included. Great tour for the price.

We did this tour on the 4th April 2019. It was easy to find the meeting point and tour guides. Omar, our tour guide knew the history of the place and was very knowledgeable. It was the first time snorkling for me but our guide and assistant was at my side all the time. Some of the group members visited the animal park with the bus driver while Omar stayed with those of us who didn't want to go and took us for a walk and a visit to the chocolate factory. A very well executed tour. Will recommend to any one.

This was the best excursion of all that we took on our cruise--and the best fish taco!! The land tour was very informative and the boat tour was great. Best of all was the snorkeling. The water was very clear, although we didn't see quite as many fish as I had hoped. And the remaining time on the beach was wonderful. This tour was very good for the price, I would highly recommend it. The guide was good, as was the boat tour guide. The bus was very comfortable and stopped at places that were very interesting or had great views.

I feel lucky to book the tour before the cruise. My whole family, 3 adults and 2 kids took the trip. My youngest son is less than 3, so he is free. The bus is clean, our tour staff is kind and informative. The land tour is ok, they took us to some local place, such as the market or stores, but this is very early in morning (around 9:00 am), so the market and store is not open yet. The food is just snack, and they want you to order food from the restaurant. The snorkeling is ok, but the time is too short, and probably we are during the spring break, there are lots of tours, so the location is not good, and we only see a few fishes. It’s enjoyable to sitting in the fast boat under the sunshine with the crystal-clear water. The best of the tour is that our whole family can stay together to have the experience of Roatan.
