Fairytale Schwerin

Set off directly from the cruise pier in Warnemuende in the morning on this amazing full-day adventure in northern Germany.

Begin your journey with a brief orientation in the charming seaside resort Warnemuende (time permitting) and head to Rostock by train and tram. Join your guide on a comprehensive walking tour of the Hanseatic and University town of Rostock and see the main sights, such as the city hall and market square, the university main building, the busy boulevard and the town wall and its gates.

After this glimpse of Rostock embark on a train to the heart of Mecklenburg and visit Schwerin. After a commented stroll boasting the gothic cathedral, the elegant government buildings, the former residences of the Dukes of Mecklenburg and the picturesque half-timbered houses of the old town, enjoy some time at leisure to go for lunch or relax or look into the shops.

Continue your tour with an inside visit of Schwerin Palace, where you will be provided a tour guide or audio-guide depending on availability, and enjoy a pleasant stroll through the palace gardens. Schwerin is the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany and is known for its neo-Renaissance palace with ornate rooms and elaborate gardens, which sits on an island in the picturesque Lake Schwerin.

If time permits, you may also be provided brief leisure time to continue to explore downtown on your own. At the end of the day you will be transferred back to the pier area in comfort by train as you relax and reminisce about the most amazing day you have spent while in Germany.
