See Skagway by Air, Land & Water

Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime. This Skagway combo tour lets you explore the area by raft, in the air, along the highway and on water. Are you ready?

Your Skagway cruise tour starts on a bush plane for a 50-minute scenic flight over glaciers. You'll see several notable glaciers including the Rainbow Glacier and the Davidson glacier, which feature waterfalls and other jaw-dropping sights. Be on the lookout for mountain goats as you make your way to Haines.

At Haines, you'll join your guide for a fun drive along the Haines Highway, a National Scenic Byway. Make sure to have your camera out while on excursion; wildflowers, moose and mountains are just a few of the things you might see during your thirty mile drive..

Eventually, you will reach the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve and journey via rubber raft into the Alaskan wilderness. This is a float trip, so don't worry about rough waters. This preserve is home to one of the largest bald eagle communities in the world; every year, thousands of eagles fly here to eat salmon during the colder seasons. There's more to the area than bald eagles, however: During this Skagway tour, you might see trumpeter swans, river otters, bear or moose. And the scenery is breathtaking!

After about one and a half hours of rafting, you'll stop for a picnic lunch before heading back to Haines. Next , board an ocean catamaran for a forty five minute journey. The views are spectacular; bald eagles and harbor seals are commonly sighted. And there are dozens of unnamed waterfalls dropping from the steep walls of the cliffs as you return to Skagway.

Absolutely loved everything about this package, it is so worth the price. Each leg of the package was great but I especially liked the rafting and the bush plane over Glacier Bay was beyond beautiful. almost an entire hour in the air and having gone in July we could not have asked for more perfect weather.

The highlight of this tour was the flight over the glaciers. The pilot was skillful, and we got in close. Saw some wildlife, too. The tour guide on the ground was pretty informative and funny. The river portion was pleasant--no rain--but did not see a lot of animals, just a few eagles. A nice morning, all in all.

This excursion package was a definite winner. Nothing to dislike about this package. We had a great time rafting, you should know though Eagles were plentiful they were a distance away so best to bring your binoculars. Our guide was very knowledgeable and actually teaches in one of the secluded native villages during the school year. The highlight though, hands down was the bush plane. I set my stop watch when taking off from the airport and upon landing it was almost a full hour that we enjoyed the most beautiful and spectacular sights. With only one other couple aboard we had plenty of interaction in conversation with the Pilot - ""Paul thank you for making our trip to Alaska a memory we could never forget"" For what you get this is a very reasonable excursion package.
