Mountain Bike & Snorkel Adventure
Discover the historic and natural treasures of Aruba by mountain bike. Ride along the majestic ocean and see a great variety of fascinating sites from this remarkable perspective.
The ride will be tailored to your skill level and will be led by your professional tour guide. Pedal through the Aruban "Cunucu," or countryside, along genuine donkey trails up to the Alto Vista Chapel dating back to 1750, on a state-of-the-art Trek aluminum mountain bike. Wind your way down along the northeast coast, where you'll enjoy the sounds and views of the waves crashing wildly onto the rocky shore. See the famous Rock Wish Garden, where tourists make wishes and build their own miniature rock towers along the beach. With the northeastern Caribbean wind at your back, you'll pass the Tierra Del Sol Golf Course and the Coral Plateau, home of the California Lighthouse, named after a steamship that sank nearby in 1891. Here, you'll have a chance to stretch your legs and take pictures of the magnificent views.
After descending from the lighthouse, you'll pass Arashi beach and Boca Catalina, and arrive at Malmok Beach for the next part of this great tour. Put on your snorkeling gear and enter the crystal clear tropical water for an amazing view of the abundant tropical fish and marine life. After your snorkel, climb back onto your bike and head back to the "Cunucu."
We had a fabulous tour with Geert from Rancho Notorious. He picked us up on time, tailored each mountain bike and the tour to our abilities. The first mile of our eleven mile trek was uphill... against the wind! The view from the ridge was gorgeous, and unexpected. The unpopulated, dry, dusty hillsides were covered in cacti, with the ocean sparkling beyond the rocky coastline. We rode down to the shore and along a dusty road that was well travelled by jeep tours and other visitors. We stopped at a quaint, old Catholic Church then rode past hundreds of cairns to where California lighthouse is situated. Once we turned around the tip of the island, we were back amongst homes and resorts. The sea was too rough for our guide to allow us to snorkel, which was disappointing, but we are glad he was caring for our safety. The bike tour was one of the highlights of our trip and we loved getting some exercise and seeing the island from the vantage point of a mountain bike!

We were supposed to meet up with the mountain bike tour at the exact time that we were allowed off the ship. By the time we got off the ship and got to the gas station where we were supposed to meet up, the van had left with out us. Rancho Notorius did arrange for us to meet up with the tour, but we lost an hour of mountain biking time. Please check that the times mesh correctly. Otherwise the tour was outstanding. Everyone at the ranch was very friendly and helpful.

This a was a great excursion. A beautiful bike ride with a wonderful ( & necessary beach snorkel). The Aruban Cunuco is a barren but beautiful landscape. Please keep in mind, however, that the bike ride is long (11 miles) over bumpy terrain so you need to be used to riding. We had not been riding regularly so our bottoms got quite sore during the ride. Otherwise, it was thoroughly enjoyable. Our guide, Geet, was very knowledgable about the area and added significantly to our experience.

It was only the guide and I. We had a terrific tour of the area. The ocean was really turblent so I did not spend much time snorkling. the bike ride was exciting...18 miles w/lots of interesting things to see and a great tour guide
This was the best tour on my cruise. It gets you to the other side of Aruba and away from the tourist trap and crowds of the port. The biking was fun and a great way to work off all that evil buffet food from the ship. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The snorkeling at the end was a great way to cool off. The only bad thing about it, was it wasn't long enough. I could have gone biking for another 3 hours, it was that much fun.
