St. Maarten Half Day Snorkeling & Catamaran Sailing

"Come Sail Away," the Styx song beckons. You'll be glad you joined the Half-Day Cat Sail and Snorkel Tour and did just that.

Sailing from the Great Bay of Philipsburg, you will see history, beautiful scenery and incredible villas and yachts as you sail along the coast past the ruins of Fort Amsterdam, Little and Cay Bays, and Pelican Key on your St. Maarten excursion.

The Catamaran holds up to 80 guests in comfort and is more than 50 feet in length. There is a spacious sun deck as well as a shaded area. Snorkel gear is available on your St. Maarten excursion for those wishing to explore the undersea world, and there is a freshwater shower for after, as well as restrooms on board. Juice, soda, water, and snacks will be available throughout the day. After the last snorkel stop, rum punch and beer will be added to the "open bar."

Depending on the weather conditions that day, your captain will set a course for best snorkeling stops. You may stop over a shipwreck, where you would have an unforgettable experience of watching underwater life. Be made near mullet bay beach, the lagoon, and bay lounge swimming, snorkeling, and just relaxing.

All too soon, it will be time to turn for home. On the return trip to Philipsburg, the friendly crew will pamper and entertain you with St. Maarten legends and some island music.

We recommend wearing a bathing suit under comfortable clothing and sensible walking shoes. Shoes must be removed while on the boat. A beach towel, sun glasses and sun screen are also suggested.
Guests must be able to pull themselves from the water using the ship's ladder, have basic swimming skills, and feel comfortable in the water. Participants must be of reasonable health, must not rely on oxygen tanks or have any major breathing issues, and must be cleared of major medical issues by a medical doctor prior to the tour date. Though some special medical requests may be accommodated, prior notification and approval is necessary.

The crew was very attentive and went above expectations with service. They were constantly helping guests move about the boat, asking if anyone needed drinks, giving local lore and points of interest. Only negative was not enough food for everyone on board-either due to people taking too much at the front of the line or not stocking enough for the trip. The tour was full but did not feel that way until got in line to eat on way back.

It was a windy day so we were the only 4 people on the tour. What an amazing day!!! Joseph and Charles made us feel very welcome and took fantastic care of us. The catamaran is very clean and we felt safe and comfortable despite the wind. I highly recommend this tour. The only negative part was a mixup about where we should meet up with them in the morning.

Sailing on a smaller catamaran was amazing. Everyone was happy and courteous. Snorkeling was great. Took us to a nice beach for a swim. Lunch was supplied and a few refreshments. Highly recommend.

On January 25th, our group of 4 had planned to go snorkelling in St Maarten. New to cruising, excursions, and snorkelling, we made our way to the rendez-vous spot. Leroy, who manages the business, informed us that we were the only clients that day (they normally have 20-40 clients) so our experience would be very private! He ordered us sandwiches and led us to his catamaran. He introduced us to Charlie and Joseph and left us in their capable hands. After a little boat ride to our snorkelling location, Joseph jumped in the water with us to help us find fish and interesting sea life. We then boarded the catamaran again to go to a beautiful beach. We had time to swim, walk and relax. On the boat ride back to the pier, we ate our sandwiches and had some rhum punch while relaxing in the front nets of the boat! Charlie and Joseph are fun, polite and knowledgeable and Leroy runs a first class tour! A wonderful half day excursion that we would love to do again, recommend to everyone!
