Upon leaving the harbor, experience the dual personality of the island firsthand. Since the mid-1600s, the island has been flying the Netherlands flag and the France flag. Philipsburg, the Dutch capital, is among the first attractions on this tour, followed by a trek through the Orleans district located on the French side of the island.
As you make your way north, there will be a few stops for photo ops, including a brief break at Orient Beach (where you'll also get a drink). Multiple fishing villages are on the St. Maarten tour route as well, providing a glimpse into the daily lives of fisherman in the area. Another major stop is Marigot, the French capital home to a number of beautiful shops, markets, and boutiques worth checking out. Eventually, you'll make your return to Phillipsburg to end this St. Maarten sightseeing tour, but not before enjoying some wonderful views of Simpson Bay and Cole Bay Hill.
Book this St. Maarten tour today for an unforgettable Netherlands excursion.
Please Note: Due to hurricane damage on the French side of the island, this tour will operate as a Dutch side island tour until further notice. The tour will stop at the Rum Distillery in Cole Bay, Maho Beach, Carousel Gelateria and Cafe in Simpson Bay, and Amsterdam Cheese in Philipsburg. The Dutch side island tour will also include a free rum tasting at the Rum Distillery with a short rum history tour, a free ride in a vintage carousel, a free Dutch cheese tasting, free home-made ice cream, and free ice water on board the bus.

I was on the double decker bus in St. Maarten – a very small island that depends on the tourist dollars to help raise money to rebuild. The driver ‘Victor’ was awesome, funny and really made the day. To be honest there are no castles, cathedrals etc on this small island but the people are friendly, scenery is beautiful and the views spectacular. For those people who do not snorkel or ride ATV’s a double decker bus is the way to see the island.

The company needed to cancel the tour. They offered something else. We enjoyed it. We appreciated the guide.

I had never been to St Marrten and I would highly recommend it to get the feel of the island.
