Two Countries, One Bike
Two Countries, One Bike Shore Excursion
See the Dutch side of St. Maarten and the French side of St. Martin on this island tour by bike.
After meeting your guide for this St. Maarten excursion, your small group of 4 - 10 guests will receive instruction and information about your comfortable Trek hybrid bicycle and equipment. Once everyone is ready, your guide will lead you out of Philipsburg and past the Great Salt Pond, which once had a significant role in the history and economy of St Maarten in the 1600s.
After a short sustained climb, you will enjoy a long descent to the charming Oyster Pond Bay. This is a quaint residential area situated on a lagoon and shared by the Dutch and French side of the island.
You will then continue on, crossing from the Dutch side of the island over to French St. Martin. Continuing along the eastern coastline, you will have the opportunity to see some magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the neighboring French island, St Barths. Your pedaling will soon bring you to the beautiful Galion Beach, also referred to as "the pearl of the Caribbean," and views of Orient Bay. This is the island's most famous beach.
You will return to Philipsburg via the French Quarter, which is located in the middle of the island.
