Eco Walk and Suspension Bridges
To make your Caribbean vacation complete, explore the raw jungle and lush canopy of Roatan on a stimulating Eco-walk.
After meeting your driver at the pier for this Roatan excursion, you will make your way to the island's West End, approximately a 30 minute-drive, where your jungle exploration takes place.
Setting out with your guide, you will descend down into the raw jungle of Roatan Island, walking over paved paths, wooden steps, and suspension bridges while keeping an eye out for tropical flowers, "Tarzan" vines, birds, lizards, iguanas, fruit and nut trees and amazing views. This is a great trip for photographers!
The suspension bridges have a width of four feet and a capacity for 10 people. They vary in length from 150 feet to 200 feet, making them the longest and strongest bridges in the Western Caribbean. They range in height from 20 to 85 feet above the ground. The walking portion of the tour lasts about 40 minutes and covers approximately one mile in distance. When you reach the bottom, transportation is available to take you back up to the top where you can meet up with the transfer back to the cruise pier. The more active can retrace their steps.
Please note: Infants are allowed in a carrier backpack only up to 11 months are free of charge.

Walk was very picturesque, the guide was very informative on the different plants and the uses for them. Only draw back was the walk was a little shorter than I would have liked. The bus driver as also very knowledgeable as he guided us through Roatan

We were expecting this to be more of a tree-top walk but, at just above ground level, it was probably better as none of us really like heights. It turned out that our family of three were the only ones who booked this tour so we had a very personal service. Our guide, Ovania, was very knowledgable about the flora and fauna of the area. We were very well looked after. Would definitely recommend.

The meeting instructions were easy to follow. Ride to where the tour started not too far away. Enjoyed the nature walk with a local guide who shared some local customs about the animals and plants we saw so I definitely learned some new things. Walking or bouncing across the bridges, each with a different name was out of the ordinary and added some fun to a pretty good nature walk. We also caught a couple views of the zip lines nearby. I'd like to do it again sometime!

Rather a long drive from the dock to the site but that gave us a chance to see different areas of the island. The walk was very interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable. She explained the medical uses for many of the plants. Knew the history of the area, the plant, animals, and was able to answer all of our questions. Enjoyable.
Our guide was wonderful on explaining the different trees we came across and what medicines they get from them and how they use them. She was great at letting us know at each bridge why it was named what it was. Very fun way to trek through the jungle.
