The Scenic North Tour
Here is your chance to enjoy nature and delve into Bonaire's history and culture as you visit Gotu Lake, Rincon and Seru Largu.
Your journey begins as you take the scenic route up the northern coast to 1,000 Steps Beach where you can catch some rays and take a dip in the crystal clear waters. Strap on your snorkeling gear to see all the colorful fish and other marine life. From there you will head to Goto Lake, a serene saltwater bay separated from the sea by a sandbar made out of coral. Watch the graceful flamingos and behold the rising hills of the Washington Slagbaai National Park behind them. Then it's onto Rincon, the oldest settlement and the only other town on the island besides Kralendijk, the island's capital. Pause and observe the ancient inscriptions etched into limestone by the Arawak Indians while you learn about the island's first inhabitants. Complete your tour with a stop at Seru Largu; translated Big Hill, this higher elevation rewards you with striking overviews of the island.
