Recommended Dress For all tours in Alaska, we recommend wearing layers with the top layer being waterproof. Sturdy hiking boots are also recommended. It is important to dress according to the day's weather, and to keep in mind that it will get cooler as you gain elevation.
Restrictions This hike is considered strenuous, as it involves hiking up elevated, uneven terrain. All guests should be in relatively good shape and enjoy exercise. This hike gains 750 to 1200 feet, depending on the abilities of the group. This tour is not recommended for guests who are not usually active or have limited mobility, health issues or injuries.

This is a rural hike and there are no facilities at the trailhead, along the trail, or at the beach. This is a leave-no-trace, tobacco-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free excursion.

Tongass National Forest Scenic Lake Hike

Come join a stunning 4-mile round-trip hike in a small group of up to 8 people! Hike an improved gravel trail alongside a forested lake below a mountain, where there will be plenty of spots for picture taking. From there, the second mile's more natural tread is mixed with gravel, large rocks, and roots as you ascend through an old-growth rainforest displaying large Sitka spruce, western red cedar, and western hemlock.

At 1100 feet of elevation, we will arrive at our destination - the bottom of an avalanche chute. There are only two tours allowed on this cherished trail per day, making this a truly unique experience. You may also ask how to practice mindfulness and connect with your surroundings during the hike, allowing you to take these skills into other areas of your life.

Please Note: This is a rural hike and there are no facilities at the trailhead, along the trail, or at the beach. This is a leave-no-trace, tobacco-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free excursion.
