Bear Watching at Traitor's Cove

The Traitor's Cove flightseeing adventure combines two of Alaska's greatest resources - fish and black bears - and treats you to an unforgettable experience. Margaret Creek Fish Ladder has the busiest aquatic thoroughfare in the area during the summer months, as countless steelhead, coho, sockeye, and pink salmon thunder upstream over the steps of this legendary fish ladder.

And where there are fish, there are black bears, so this Ketchikan day trip offers a really good chance to view bears and salmon together from the comfort of an outstanding observation platform!

This was well worth the entire trip. Everything was great. The pickup at the dock, the flight, and the bears - lots of bears close up and personal. It was nice to be in a small group of 4. If you only take one excursion, this is the one to take!

Saw about 6 different bears. Incredible to see them in the wild. The plane ride was very cool. Guide was very knowledgable. Highly recommend it.

Loved the wilds!

The original operator who was to conduct the tour was unable to provide the service due to plane mechanical issues. Leslie called other operators to get us the trip we had long waited for. She was so nice and helpful and we greatly appreciated all her efforts to not cancel our tour. The new operator could not have been nicer and Jim our pilot was great!! Such a beautiful flight out to a remote island where we met Josh our guide. The area was just beautiful. Unfortunately we only saw a bear appear 1 min. before we had to leave. The tour was great and I would do it again!!!!
