Tropical Hike and Bike to Stone Island

Immerse yourself in the local Mexican culture and take a journey back in time to a place called Stone Island. Alongside your local and knowledgeable guide, discover the stunning scenery of this place where you leave the city behind and buildings are replaced by country houses and crowds of people are substituted by the quiet solitude of a small town vibe. View the beautiful coast and the coconut plantations that will transport you to an ultimate tour destination!

Meet your English-speaking guide at the pier are and be transferred to the bike center to be outfitted with your bike and helmet and be provided with safety instructions. After this, you will soon board a small fishing boat called a "anga" that will transport you to Stone Island on short and scenic ride.

Technically, not an island, this peninsula is located off the south end of the coast of Old Mazatlan. Tranquil and clean, Isla de la Piedra is known for beautiful, long sandy beaches that are sheltered offering calm and warmer water than the beaches of Mazatlan.

Once you have arrived, begin discovering the region's ecosystem, social life, and culture by hiking to the top of an unexplored hill for approximately 30 minutes. Your group is kept to a maximum amount of no more than 10 participants at a time to allow for a very intimate experience with your local guide.

Next up, you will leisurely bike through Stone Island village for approximately 1.5 hours in total. Start with a brief introduction to the area and a beachside view of the island. First up, make a stop at Leonilas House and observe the making of a delicious coconut desert. Continue from here and stop to visit the Stone Island Botanical Garden for nice photo opportunities.

Keep cycling as you ride along a secluded highway to your lunch destination. Arrive to "La Palapa del Che", a traditional oceanfront hut where you will enjoy a delectable, local grilled dish that you will help to collaborate and prepare. After lunch, free time will be given to have a dip in the water or simply chill out and relax in a hammock.

When your time on Stone Island has come to an end, re-board the "anga" and cross the bay back to the city and to your starting point. This very special, active adventure is designed especially for nature lovers and those that look to discover a new place by learning about the surroundings in an up-close and personal way.
