Tugboat and Reef Snorkel
See the sights of Curacao by land, and then snorkel over a reef and then a sunken tugboat on this sightseeing and snorkeling combo tour!
After being picked up at the pier, you will visit the East of Curacao, which is Curacao's most residential area. After showing you the historical city of Willemstad, you will depart for a beautiful nearby bay with calm water and great snorkeling opportunities. A shallow terrace runs between 15 and 25 feet (4.5 and 7.5 meters) deep with healthy coral, diverse fish, and even some well-camouflaged seahorses. The reef area is the perfect nursery for small colorful fish that call it home. After drying off and re-hydrating with complimentary juice and water, you will head toward an historic site: Fort Beekenburg, originally built to protect Caracasbaai from pirates and enemy nations. The trail offers a good view of Barbara Beach across the expansive harbor of Spanish Water.
Next on your Curacao tour, go snorkeling over a picturesque sunken tugboat in calm and protected waters. The fully intact 30-foot wreck sits upright in 20 feet of water; the wheelhouse is only five feet beneath the surface. After three decades below the waves, the skeletal hull is totally encrusted with coral and Christmas tree worms. The area is also teeming with tropical fish, all amenable to being photographed. After drying off and heading back to shore, you will be dropped off at the ship.

We had 6 people on our tour with Ryan. He was on time and informative. He picked us up outside the port and had a van across the street to take to our dive sites. Snorkel gear was provided and was in good shape (compared with the duck taped equipment we used on another tour). He drove us around the island and went to an overlook for the two spots we would dive. We drove to an old fort that also had great views. Our first stop had a small shipwreck and plenty of fish. The second spot you had to swim about 200 meters to get to the actual wreck. The fish (including a water snake) were amazing. Super colorful and plentiful for sure. Ryan then drove us a more around the island and showed us neat history spots near the government building. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Curacao. Water shoes or at least something if you don't like fins are highly recommended for getting in and out of the water.
Two snorkel sites with about an hour at each one. Our guide snorkeled with us at the tugboat and watched from shore at the reef. Saw trunks, trumpets, 2 flounders, sea snake, several cuttlefish, lots of butterfly fish and a high hat at the Tugboat. At the reef snorkel we saw 2 eels, a lion fish, juvenile French angels among many other fish. In addition our guide told us about the island and its history. Stopped at the Blue Curacao for a tasting and shopping. If you like to snorkel, this is an excellent excursion, amazing variety of fish in a relatively small and shallow area. Loved it!

Had a great time. Snorkeling was good. Our guide was great and there were only eight people on the excursion. I would definitely recommend.

Snorkel on Tug was great. Difficult for some getting in and out of water but guides were extremely helpful

We really liked having a small group, had 2 guides in the water with the 8 of us, and they were continually pointing out interesting fish and coral. The guides enjoy their jobs, and are very enthusiastic. We went to two small beaches which were rocky and we were pretty much the only ones there. To reach the tugboat we had to swim near a large oil rig, and under a cable, but well worth it for the number and variety of fish we saw.
