Ultimate Venetian Lagoon Experience

Book this full-day, exclusive tour of the Murano, Burano, Torcello, San Francesco del Deserto, and Mazzorbo islands and explore a side of Venice that visitors rarely get to see. Spend the day island hopping through the most famous islands in the Venetian lagoon.

This tour is perfect for those who want to experience the less crowded and less commercial side of Venice. Your experience starts in central Venice as you, your expert guide and small group board a private boat and head out to the Island of San Francesco del Deserto. Along the way your guide will share how the islands in Venice were settled and point out places of interest.

Once at San Francesco del Deserto you will stop at a private monastery and literally walk in Saint Francis of Assisi's footsteps as the monks take you through peaceful gardens and an ancient church. From there you will head to the island of Burano, home to Venice's famous lace makers. Burano will greet you with brightly colored houses, picture-perfect canals and squares. While here you will cross over a bridge into Mazzorbo to tour the vineyard and learn how the Dorona grape was saved from extinction and today produces one of the world's rarest and most unique wines. Then it's your turn to enjoy an exclusive tasting of the Venissa wine, one of Venice's best-kept secrets. You will have some free time to explore Burano and enjoy authentic dishes at one of the island's many restaurants (not included).

After lunch you will continue on to Torcello, the first island in the lagoon to be inhabited and home to the 7th century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Your guide will give you a tour of the island and the cathedral, Venice's oldest church. Take some time to climb the bell tower (on your own) for great views of Torcello and the surrounding lagoon. Over in Murano you will marvel at Europe's most respected glass-makers who create the legendary Murano glass. Make your way to an abandoned church-turned-glassblowing shop where you will be treated to a glass-making demonstration, then enjoy some free time to explore the island before your return ride back to Venice.

Please Note: Guests must be able to walk independently and navigate cobblestone streets. This tour is not wheelchair or scooter accessible. Please wear clothing that covers at least the shoulders and the knees as St. Francis' Abbey is a religious site.
