The excitement of your adventure begins with a comfortable, scenic drive through the bucolic countryside to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves on this small and exclusive tour.

This most popular attraction on the North Island of New Zealand is home to thousands of Arachnocampa Luminosa, a glowworm that is unique to the country. Enter the caves and gaze in amazement at the starry wonderland over your head as your guide shares the cave's history and geology. Wonderful Day
January 18, 2020
Our tour guide, Susan, drove us to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. I wasn't too excited about this part of our tour but I was very surprised because the worms in the caves were so unique and the effect beautiful. Looking up it seemed I was looking at the night sky. It was a once in a life time experience. We then drove to the Hobbiton gathering point and boarded a bus to take us to the set. The Hobbiton guide led us through the set background information that made it come alive. It was a wonderful tour and I enjoyed ending in the Green Dragon. Our tour guide took us from there for dinner and back to our hotel. The day was long and we didn't get back until after 10 pm but the hours flew by as Susan explained the culture of New Zealand and happily answered our thousands of questions. The tour was everything we had wanted and Susan made it as near perfect as it could be. At the end of the day we felt we had not had just a very informative guide but we had made a friend.
