Wilderness Dog Sled Tour

Seward offers a picturesque coastline set against a backdrop of majestic mountain ranges. The beautiful forests of this region are a part of the true Seward experience, ride on a wheeled sled through the Alaskan wilderness and marvel at the sheer beauty and uniqueness this exciting and one-of-a-kind tour has to offer.

Your thrilling adventure begins with a 2-mile long dog sled ride on a wheeled cart made for summer time fun. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of the amazing sled dogs as they are harnessed to your comfortable sled for an approximate 1.5-hour tour.

Mush through the Seward Alaska wilderness to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon Creek. Your local, friendly and knowledgeable guide, who is your driver, will explain how the dogs are trained as they steer the sled and supply you with colorful stories from the trail.

Upon return to the kennel you can tour the beautiful facilities, have a laugh if you wish to be dressed up as an Iditarod musher and cuddle adorable the husky puppies. The purebred Alaskan Huskies are a magnificent lot of strong and loyal dogs and their pups will melt your heart.

Your guide will offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family’s training for the most demanding race on earth, the Iditarod. Don’t miss out on this most unique opportunity to spend part of your day in Seward on an adventure of a lifetime!
