Cozumel Jeep and Beach Adventure
Cozumel Jeep & Beach Adventure Excursion
Here's a Cozumel excursion with EVERYTHING: sightseeing, swimming, snorkeling and sampling local Mexican cuisine.
After meeting your tour guide, you will be matched up in groups of four and assigned a manual drive vehicle (Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Patriot - four guests per Jeep) and set out following the lead vehicle. As you drive by Cozumel Town, you will get an insight into the local life.
Your Cozumel tour will continue with a drive around the island on a scenic, paved road full of breathtaking views. Your professional guide will give you interesting information during the different stops, when guests can trade off driving if they choose.
You will access the Punta Sur State Refuge via a long, sandy road, which welcomes you to this unique ecological reserve. You will visit El Caracol, a small ancient Mayan ruin, once used as a weather alarm. You will also see the Columbia Lagoon, a magnificent and incredible ecosystem that feeds and provides balance to the reef formations. Watch for saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment, and visit an observation tower that overlooks the lagoon.
You will then head to the beach to enjoy the year-round crystal-clear waters. Follow the lead vehicle along sand paths to reach Punta Sur Bay, where you will have the option to swim or snorkel. The snorkeling is along the protected and shallow reef, 100 yards off the beach. It is full of colorful tropical fish and incredible sea life. Guests not up to the swim to the reef can walk, swim or just relax on the beach. Don't worry about your belongings, beach lockers are available for $5 US.
After your beach stop, it's back to the Jeeps and a 10-minute drive to visit the Navigation Museum inside the Punta Celarain lighthouse.
You will start the drive back towards town, but your Cozumel Jeep and Beach tour is NOT OVER. You will make a quick stop at an exclusive beach resort to enjoy a delicious late-afternoon Mexican lunch of chicken, beef or fish fajitas! Sodas, beer and mixed drinks are available for purchase. Guests wishing to remain longer may do so and will be responsible for their own transportation back to the pier. Taxi from downtown to the meeting point is approximately $3 US per person.

We picked this excursion and had no issues from the time we got off the ship until we returned. We spent the entire day with our guide. Had a great time and will definitely book with them again on our next cruise

This excursion had a variety of activities and sights to experience, so it made for a fun and full day. The beach area was beautiful, and my first snorkeling experience was super fun. Our guides were great, and the couple we shared the jeep with were too. I would definitely do this one again.

We did this excursion on 2 November 2017. When we booked it, we had no idea there would be SEVEN ships in port. Once we got out of town, you would never have known it though. As everyone else has mentioned, Felipe was great. Since we were returning a week later, he helped arrange a fishing trip for our next visit. Very pleased with everything about this excursion!

The port of Cozumel is a bustling place of bars beaches, music and souvenirs stores. We made our way to our excursion meeting point. The tour group made us comfortable offing us drinks and WiFi as we waited to leave on our adventure. The wifi was welcome after nearly a week of no communication. The tour was a little late starting, but it was the best excursion I have ever been on. My fiance' got the privilege of driving the jeep, he was thrilled! Then out we went, traveling along the coastline until we arrived at the state preserved park. We were able to see ruins from the Mayans, iguanas and crocodiles in their natural state. A quick stop to a lighthouse and museum. Finally arriving at a beautiful beach. The beach was peaceful, no one trying to sell you souvenirs. Just beauty all around with music softly playing in the background. Drink and food (included) delivered to your beach chair, or a table. I would do this again in a second. Well worth the money.

This was our second time to take this tour, as we enjoyed it so much the first time. Of course, driving our own vehicle as a plus and the small group we traveled with was just right. Our guide was knowledgeable and showed us his island with pride. The beach stop was fun but the margaritas at the lighthouse can't be beat!
