Mt. Field & Bonorong Wildlife Park Adventure

A stunning day of dramatic "Wilderness, Waterfalls and Wildlife." With forest walks, up-close animal experiences and magnificent views, this day tour offers an opportunity to experience a snapshot of Tasmania's world-famous natural attractions. We enjoy some of Tasmania's "Great Short Walks" at Mt. Field National Park, just a 90-minute drive from the Hobart waterfront. You will stop along the way to meet some of our local wildlife at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. This small-group tour accommodates a maximum of 16 participants and is led by an Eco-Certified Tour Guide.

Mt. Field is Tasmania's oldest National Park. It is most famous for the beautiful three-tiered Russell Falls. This is one of Tasmania's Great Short Walks, with an easy walking track meandering beside a quiet stream through the beautiful forest. From Russell Falls, continue up the stairs through a fern forest to Horseshoe Falls, the lesser-known but equally stunning waterfall in its peaceful rainforest setting.

We drive further into the National Park, where we explore another of Tasmania's Great Short Walks. Towering above us are the Tall Trees as we walk the Tall Trees Track. The local Swamp Gums stand over 80 meters tall and are among the tallest flowering plants in the world. These Giants of the Forest are magnificent to walk among. We enjoy a lunch break in one of the numerous beautiful settings at Mt. Field before continuing onward for the day. Lunch, snacks and drinks are not included. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or purchase a bakery-style takeaway during a stop along the way.

Our next stop is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center, where you can wander among the local wildlife and hand-feed free-roaming kangaroos and wallabies. See Tasmanian Devils, wombats, echidnas and many more of Tasmania's unique native animals, with Bonorong's expert keepers available to introduce you to the sanctuary's special residents. This is a fantastic day out exploring many of Tasmania's most unique experiences, including rainforests, waterfalls, wildlife and fabulous scenery.

Wilderness, Waterfalls and Wildlife are on tap at Tasmania's oldest National Park, Mt. Field, including the breathtaking three-tiered Russell Falls. National Park fees and admission to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary are included.
