Santorini Wine Tour

During this 4-hour small group tour you will visit three of Santorini's most acclaimed wine estates for an up close and personal peek into the process of wine making.

Explore the vineyards and learn about the different grape varietals as well as the 3,500-year history of wine making. The unique soils on this volcanic island help make Santorini a world heritage site for wine production.

Santorini is immune to a grapevine pest as its volcanic soil contains none of the clay that is necessary for the parasite to survive. As a result, many of the roots found on the vines on Santorini are centuries old. The grape growers of Santorini use a unique bush-training system, known as koulara, to grow the grapes. As the vines grow, they are woven into baskets with the grapes facing toward the inside of the ring.

The island is most famously known for its indigenous white grape varieties though some wines are made from international varieties and from indigenous red grapes as well.

Sample organic wines, such as Nykteri, Assyrtiko, and Vinsanto accompanied by local delicacies such as fresh cheese and olives.

If you love fine wines, this is the tour for you! Reserve now.
