Best of Sitka

Having a guide who is a long time resident of the area was a big plus. She was very informative and had loads of personality too! We had booked Best of Sitka, but could not get off the ship in time. They were very gracious and accommodating to get us on a later tour. So we actually were on another tour, not sure the name of it. The first stop of our tour was the Alaska Raptor Center. The snowy owl and bald eagle were fun to see up so close although the center is not very big. Next we went to Fortress of the Bear which is an impressive facility. We enjoyed seeing black and brown bears in a "natural" habitat. Our driver/guide then stopped at a lovely scenic spot for photos. Finally, we were conveniently returned to the ship.
