Practice Equalizing First
May 20, 2019
This was our first experience diving. Unfortunately the most important skill we didn't go over in the pool before jumping in was how to equalize our ears, so I quickly asked our guide the details while in the ocean. Whether it was the lack of practice, the nerves, or something physically wrong we'll never know, but my hubby was never able to equalize his ears. I had gone down first and didn't know what had happened, so while I enjoyed the dive with just my guide, I was worried about my husband, who spent the excursion on the boat. Had this not happened it would've been great - the guides were knowledgeable, made me feel comfortable in the water, and tried to find as much aquatic life as possible. I saw lots of fish, eels, and a ray within the shipwrecks. Our guides forgot about our ship departure time so it was chaotic getting back, but we made it. Would recommend the experience, but would try equalizing first, as it's likely not possible in the relatively shallow practice pool.

Wonderful Experience

We had an informative instruction period then we got out and saw a few different ship wrecks and all sorts of fish, turtles, and eels! The guide was very patient and helpful (even took a few pictures of me when I asked). Great experience overall.

Great people, they all were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The experience is unique and awesome in my opinion. A great way to get a pick of the scuba world. There are a few guides and you get grouped according to your level of experience or comfort :) it was lots of fun.

I have dove in the past and wanted to introduce my wife to diving. She and I had done a discover scuba at a local dive shop in their pool but she never dove in open water before. Robert, our guide, recognized she had issues getting her ears to equalize and patiently eased her down slowly. The dive site was incredible with a couple of wrecks we swam around seeing moray's and other great sealife. We had a little trouble with transportation from the dock not being as organized as it could have been, but they dive center made it right and we got there in time to have an incredibly memorable excursion on our honeymoon.
