From the drive around the island, the history of the island, the tasting of tequila, and especially the taco making and tasting - my daughter and I had a wonderful time. We saw the beach and got photos but didn’t want to spend our time there. Luis was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive, informative and accommodating. We met a lovely family while tasting tequila. William (I believe was his name) was interesting and funny. But the best part of the excursion was having lunch with Martine, his lovely wife and her sister. The food, while simple, was delicious and plentiful. Sitting in their back yard while eating pork tacos with homemade guacamole and salsa was very relaxing. And while the excursion was almost a full day, we still had time to visit some shops for items to take home. Thanks Luis for a great visit to Cozumel - little bit of everything.

Cozumel Taco Culture and Beach

This tour was awesome. It was not what my wife and I expected, it was so much more. I had thought we arranged this through the cruise itself, but we were wrong. It is a local tour that showed us around Cozumel. We went around as much of the island as we were allowed. Clemente was awesome. He was extremely informative and personable. He took us to a nice beach so we could go swimming. . It was a little rocky, but beautiful. He then took us to the middle of the island to an charmingly small village. He took us to a friends house where his friend and his wife cooked us the most amazing tacos we had ever had. We made fresh guacamole, fresh salsa. She made fresh tortilla from masa. There was pork that had been marinated in a really sour orange. It was just awesome. It was an amazing experience.

Authentic Cozumel Experience

It was a great experience. I had a great day with Isa. She picked me up by the Pemco gas station and we headed north of the island. She was able to give me a historical account of the island and how it was founded. Our first stop was the Flavors of Cozumel. I had the most delicious chocolate made from cocoa beans and 100% agave. Amazing. Then I had the authentic corn tortilla with home made Mayan salsa. Then on to the best thing. Tequila tasting. They will give you how real tequila is made. My favorite were the flavored tequilas. Next stop the Beach... it was beautiful and very scenic. I loved the fact that that side of the island was not commercially developed so you get the authentic island feel. Then it's lunch at a local home of the Martin Cardenas. It was an amazing meal of pork, home made tortillas, chips, guacamole and salsa. If you are looking for an authentic Cozumel experience, this is it. You will make friends for life.

Best tour ever!

This was so much fun! Got a tour all around Cozumel with a fun beach stop at an amazing famous Mojito bar where you get to see it made right in front of you with a mortar and pestle. Learned lots of history and learned all about the Mayan Goddess Ixchel of Cozumel.
The farm visit was so educational- learned all about how to make Tequila, with lots of sampling of tequila and horchata, and saw lots of farm animals and fruit trees.
We made salsa and guacamole and are delicious sopes. But the best part is the tour guide/owner- Clemente. He is the best tour guide ever - makes you feel like family and is so welcoming the entire time. Never a dull moment and he was the perfect host and guide! Highest rating for this tour!
