Puerto Plata Highlights and Golden Beach Escape

very knowledgeable, local guide. Clean, organized tour. Small group. Time for shopping, saw the highlights, went to beach. Laid back, relaxing tour. Would use this company again as tour cost considerably less than same tour offered by cruise ship

Picked up right outside of the welcome facility at the pier. Smaller group on a small bus that was in clean and excellent condition. Tour guide was very informative. Stop at the beach u resort location that provided the beach lounges and umbrella. Would take again if ever back in Puerto Plata.

This tour exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed a short walking city tour, and, since we were there on a Sunday morning (and New Year's Day to boot!), the ability to wander into a mass being conducted. The beach was the highlight--lovely white sand for a long walk, then we snagged a beach bed and had some snacks and drinks while lazing in the sun. The tour guides kept watch on us and our stuff, making us feel very safe. There was even a small straw market for a bit of souvenir shopping. A great way to start the new year!

Initially getting of the boat and finding your actual tour group was out on the city street from the dock and dozens and dozens of locals hustling and in your face about you need this and that distracting you. And you absolutely have to make sure you are with the right group and they have your name on the list. Everyone is telling you they have your name and will take care of you. I had to get attitude and stick my hand out to tell them to leave me alone. After finding the correct tour van, everything went really well and totally enjoyed the tour of the town and history. But you have to make sure you plan to make time for the beach. It was so nice to lay on the beach in a cabana or chair and sit in the sun talking fellow cruise people laughing and swimming in the beautiful water. While on the beach you weren't bothered by the staff servers, they only came when you waved at them to get drinks and food. It was really nice.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed this excursion. It gave us a quick site seeing visit to the town with a walking tour of the town square, beautiful church, Umbrella street, and the pink alley. All are close together so it is not a long walk, and breaks were provided at several places. Then the final stop was at the Golden Beach. What a view and a great beach accommodations. We loved the bed to relax and enjoy some refreshments. The beach was clean and water was waist high within a short distance into the water. The Shore excursion team provide great communications on pickup and drop off at each stop. Great excursion for seeing 2 sides of the island.

We had a wonderful day seeing the beautiful area with our tour guide Alex. He did an amazing job with his insight about the island. The beach was great and we felt safe. Wish we had more time! Thanks for the experience!

Fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable tour guide who was very accommodating and flexible with all passengers of this excursion He took time to talk to each of us individually and shared rum punch - a nice welcome!! 😊 He provided history and context at each site and we had just the right amount of time to explore each site. I would definitely rebook this excursion and recommend same to my friends and family!
