The Best of Berlin

This was an excellent tour. Enjoyed every minute and covered a lot of Berlin in mere hours. It was a long day with the bus ride from the pier but was well worth it. For sure we will want to re-visit Berlin in the future.

Overall this was well-organized and gave us a great overview of Berlin. My only criticism was our guide gave us too much information as he was filled with details and history and info. I would have appreciated more opportunity to ask questions. He did bring along some great historic photos though. Unfortunately, the tight time schedule gave us far too little time at the Berlin Wall at the end of the tour.

Our tour guide Heather was excellent. Very knowledgeable and lots of personal insights. All the stops were worthwhile except checkpoint Charlie which was to commercial and of very little value. The uniforms the "actors" wore portraying the military didn't fit and looked like they slept in them. Everything else was great. It is a long day with a 3 hour each way bus ride from the cruise terminal to Berlin, but well worth the time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting as complete tour as possible in one day. The tour company met us at the dock, checked us in quickly and we were on our way.

Bus was at the port when we arrived and left on time. Had an excellent tour guide who spoke perfect English. had a small map of the locations we would visit. Did not have the water listed in the literature.

Although the trip from the cruise port to Berlin is very long (around 3 hours), the ride is wonderful. The onmibus and the guide were waiting for us right after disembarking. Excellent punctuality, organization and security. The walk through the city of Berlin is excellent. You visit the most important places with a guide very well informed and always willing to please you. I am very happy with Shore Excursion GroupI I recommend it !!!!

This tour was one of the highlights of our 12 day cruise!!! We easily found the meeting spot, the bus was clean and cool (during a heat wave)! Our tour guide Sam, was simply fabulous!! Extremely knowledgeable and personable, we learned so much!!! We were returned to the ship promptly with ample time left it was due to leave port. Our only disappointment was that we did not book ALL of our excursions through the Shore Excursion group.. They were half the price of the ship excursions!! We plan to take ONLY Shore Excursion Group tours on future trips!! 5 stars

Guide was awesome--put the various sights in historical context. Great tour.

Given the time constrain and bus travel distance, the tour guide did the best she can for the guest to see the tourist points. She is on time to depart and return for the tour. For lunch, she hand out a pre-formulated lunch menu of the restaurant, after we made the selections, she called the restaurant to pre-order the lunch so we would not have to wail long. We finished the lunch in 45 minutes. There two things I suggest to improve for the tour: 1) we were split from our friends family. When we request to stay one the same bus/tour, we were told it could not be done with no reason given. 2) The tour guide did not get on until we reached Berlin. I wish someone would tell us such as the restroom stops, when the tour guide will get on, etc.

We could not fault the whole trip. The bus was very comfortable and the 3 hours went by quite quickly. We were transferred into smaller groups and then taken on a very good and informative tour of Berlin. My first time here and I saw all the important monument and as our quide was excellent and very knowledgeable I felt I got more from my day here than I could ever have expected. We were taken to a local german restaurant and had a very lovely lunch. Not included in the tour but very inexpensive. It was a long day but well worth it. The weather helped as well I must say.

Guide was excellent.....professional, friendly, knowledgeable. Long travel time [distance made it unavoidable ]....however enjoyed the experience.

The young man who was our guide was terrific. He was enthusiastic and knew his history. He had a binder to show us ‘before’ pictures and made sure all questions were answered. He set an appropriate pace but crammed a lot in to our day. Thoroughly enjoyable!

If you want to see Cold War and WWII history, this is a nice tour. Our guide was terrific. I would have preferred more time on foot and less on the bus. It's a long way from Warnemunde to Berlin.

Wish I could remember our guides name,(from western state in US). Very knowledgeable, experienced, and articulate. Very professional and unique. Enjoyed tour very much.

This was a well executed tour. Heather, our guide, provided clear descriptions of the history of Germany, Berlin and the sites visited, illustrated with large photographs. However, the descriptions provided on the Shore Excursions site and ticket vouchers did not make clear that a substantial amount of walking was involved. On a hot day, this proved too much for two members of our group. If mobility is not an issue for you, I heartily recommend this tour.

We had a great tour guide who graduated from Penn State. She was very well prepared and organized. Great day in Berlin!!

Our guide, Heather, made the most of our short time in Berlin together (about 5 hours). She was informative and helpful. The group size (no more than 20) was appropriate. Unfortunately it just takes too long by bus (about 3 hours each way) to get from the cruise ship dock at Rostock to Berlin.

Very good excursion. The guide had a very knowledge of the history of Berlin. Also very good communicator.

Because we were on a cruise and a couple of hours from Berlin, this is the best way to get there and see an overview of the area. So much to see, but our guide gave great information and time to take in the sights and sounds of this historic place.

Was really excited about seeing Berlin, but worried about the long drive from the port, but they were very good at getting us back to the pier in plenty of time. The tour was excellent! Will do this one again, we saw so much, plus had some free time to eat and shop!

The ride to Berlin from our dock was some 2-hours, but the coach was comfortable and not overcrowded--and more importantly--the coach made one (much needed) stop in each direction. The bus driver was more than efficient and the tour guide beyond exceptional. We saw all (at least for us) the salient Berlin highlights. Indeed, I/we recommend this tour!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Even though the bus ride was 3 hours each way it afforded a time to relax and catnap. Once in Berlin we were gifted with the best guide Berlin has to offer. Jim has lived in Berlin 12 years, earning his doctorate in history and marrying his love from Berlin. Because he was born in Minnesota he spoke perfect English and had tons of history and stories about the Berlin area. I was fascinated seeing WW II come alive. Sights I will cherish and memories I will not forget. The Holocaust Memorial was especially an unexpected surprise. Jim had first hand knowledge and answers for all our questions.

The tour guide (forgot her name) is very knowledgeable of the history and the area. She has a sense of humor and was able to keep everybody in and out on time which was not an easy things to do.

Looking at the 6hr ride for a few hours in Berlin, I really wondered if it was worth it. Definitely!! And I would do it again. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and passionate about Berlin. She was well versed in its history and showed us great historic pictures of the places we were visiting. Her enthusiasm was contagious- we want to go back!
