Knossos Palace, Winery and Arhanes Village

We loved this experience very much.

We had a terrific guide named Katie who kept us all together, and she explained everything beautifully. She gave us time to take some photos, and she answered all of our questions. The Palace was interesting to see, but as expected very crowded with fellow tourists. The winery was pleasant with a short video shown explaining the wine process, but we didn't really get to see how wine is really made. We were given time to purchase wine and some other wine oriented souvenirs. The village was really just a chance for us to walk around a bit and have lunch on our own. It was a nice pleasant excursion that was well organized and calm with some walking but not too much.

We were collected as arranged and with threatening weather got to see most of the Knossos Palace sites. The rain then became torrential and we soldiered on to the winery for delicious tastings. Although we hoped the weather would clear it became worse and numerous traffic accidents and flooded roads all around us the Bus driver was able to get us safely back to the port. As a group we agreed to skip the Arhanes Village stop as everything was closed and the weather was terrible. All part of life’s adventures and the Guide was great.

I knew nothing about the Minoans and left. Absolutely amazed at these ancient ruins and how incredible they were. I believe this is the oldest place I've been ever in my life. It is an absolute must-see. Our guide was incredible

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. It was a smaller size tour so easy to round everyone up and continue on to the next stop. The tiny area where we had lunch was beautiful and the food was amazing.
