Great excursion

Ian was a fantastic guide - gave us so much history about the area. There was time to walk around the castle by ourselves. The boat trip on Loch Ness was beautiful.

Gorgeous scenery on the way to the loch, knowledgeable and informative driver/guide, dramatic castle ruins, serene yet mysterious ride on the loch … Well worth the expense!

Lochness and Urquhart Castle worth seeing

Inverness was a nice stop, but it was very rushed. Only had time to grab lunch, look at the church, and then head back to the coach. Lochness is just beautiful. We were fortunate that we got to see it on a sunny day. Unfortunately our guide was unfamiliar with the sound system on our coach so felt I missed a lot of her insight. She was very soft spoken and even on the vox boxes she was hard to hear. Urquhart Castle is right on Lochness and is really worth seeing. It has almost all of its wall and Bailey. Just amazing what was built without power tools and heavy equipment. Great visitors center.

He took us to a farm store not on the program to see highland cows.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. When we arrived in port, we expected to be joining a group. It turned out to be us and one other person on the tour. Our tour guide was a “Highlander”. A real Highlander that participated in re-enactments, games and had a degree in Scottish History. It was a great personal experience that we would never have had on the similar excursion through the cruise line. We highly recommend this tour. You don’t have to worry about getting back to the ship in time. The cruise line will try to scare you into booking their excursion. You will do and see more on this excursion than the cruise line’s. Loved it! Thank you!
