Best of Ephesus

Our day in Ephesus with Canalp (John) was fabulous. He is friendly, informative, speaks English well and was accommodating to our personal requests. Highly recommend this tour.

We were the last cruise ship of the year and there were no crowds or lineups! Essentially a private tour as there were only two of us being escorted by the very amazing Muge Akdemir. Muge set a great pace and shared fascinating information shared about each point of interest eg Ephesus, house of St Mary, St John’s Basilica etc… Full day with lots of walking amongst the monumental archeological ruins. Exceptional value!

I wish I could remember our tour guides name because she is the reason our tour was so wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. So many guides may know the facts, but are boring. That was definitely not the case here, and she took us around giving info without any listening devices, and everyone heard her. Your company is very lucky to have her!!!

Ephesus was my favorite! We saw so many places that meant so much! Watch out for the carpet dealers and high pressure sales pitch at the end

We are happy with this excursion. We got to see and were guided through the ancient city of Ephesus. A walking tour that takes over an hour, bring water and sturdy walking shoes. Amazing location and history. You will also visit Virgin Mary's last home, we are not religious, but still enjoyed the brief visit to this 2000 year old home in the hills. It was crowded and you cannot linger in this home. Just pass through it in a line. We enjoyed the Turkish lunch included at an outdoor patio in the country. A free ranging sheep came to visit our table a few times. The fare was awesome. Beer is available at a reasonable charge. Silk is the theme here and you will see the spinning process and carpet making.

One of the highlights of our crusie. Can not recommend this tour enought. Tour guide was great and very informative. The Virgin Mary house was much more moving then I thought. We were there on a Sunday and there was an outdoor Mass. Stragely outside of the visitor center you can buy some 'real fakes.' If you want knock-offs, bargain hard the prices drop fairly quickly. Again, highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Sammy was informative at all sites ... Virgin Mary's house, Church of St John, strolling thru what the area was many years ago and imagining Apostle Paul speaking at that very place. While the heat was intense that day it was all worthwhile. It's a worthwhile tour for limited time in Port.

Other than being a very hot day, we cannot say enough good things about our tour. Our guide, Tanzer, was excellent and so knowledgeable. If he is your quide, you will not be disappointed. The House of the Vigin Mary was so interesting and we learned so much history about Mary and John. The ruins of Ephesus were incredible and so well restored and only 25% of it had been uncovered. We enjoyed the Turkish carpet demonstration and the meal there was delicious! Overall, the best tour we have ever had.

The tour was conducted just for my wife and me with a courteous driver and extraordinary guide. (The price was also lower than other tours where we would have been a part of a large group.) Our guide, whose name I sadly cannot recall, was a young woman who had been a history teacher. She spent several hours walking through the main section of Ephesus and explaining the artifacts, history and culture in great detail. She also took us to the resting place of the B.V.M. To conclude the tour, she took us to a fascinating carpet manufacturer where we watched a demonstration by expert weavers and ate a lavish and delicious traditional Turkish meal. I highly recommend this tour.

This was an amazing tour! The guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable. Loved all the sites and our guide gave us the history and stories behind each one. I enjoyed all the places we visited. The highlight of the tour for me was visiting the rug making school and getting the chance to do a few weaves on a rug that was being worked on. Including a homemade lunch was a nice plus! I highly recommend this tour!

We really enjoyed this tour and felt like it utilized our time well to see as much of Ephesus we could while on our shore excursion. I loved the visit to the House of the Virgin Mary and and the ruins. The lunch was delightful, and we enjoyed the fellowship of the other tour attendees. The carpet-making demonstration was very interesting, but prepare yourself for the hard sell afterwards!

You need a tour in Ephesus and this was perfect! I prefer the smaller group than booking direct with the ship. Everything went well.

Very great guide, knowledgeable with all aspects of excursion and then some. Small con: Food break did not occur until END of excursion which was then followed by a rug demonstration, which seemed required as opposed to optional. Description says optional. Even when asked to opt out, we felt obligated to look at some rugs. Note, guide was not aware of return time to cruise. Overall though, very thorough and informative with the sites visited. Small group was outstanding!

The guide was very kind and knowledgeable. The tour was very smooth. Wish we'd been given more time at the end to peruse the shopping area AT Ephasus, but it got very rushed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion and our guide. She was very knowledgeable, concerned about the guests, and did a wonderful job.

Our guide, Oz, was born and raised in Kadsudsi. He was very knowledgeable and great with sharing info. Also offered to take pictures so everyone could be in the pictures.
