Taormina and Isola Bella

There is just never enough time no matter what excursions you choose...excellent crew, knowledgeable, gorgeous scenery, refreshing, inviting water...traffic issues, time constraints...would have liked this excursion more if I wasn’t on a time frame to return to a ship. Could have hung out in town and caught a cab back or something, but too rushed..not on the part of the crew..on the land issues...

Our tour guides were waiting for us right off the ship with a sign with my last name on it. Then we went to Taormina - leaving the port right on time (12:30pm). it’s a 50 minute drive to Taormina. (Small bus with free WiFi, water and an Italian pastry.) We had free time in Taormina until 3:30pm. This was perfect amount of time for us. We walked around Taormina (beautiful) and had lunch at Pizzeria Taormina. 4pm we are on the boat and enjoyed some beautiful sites around isola Bella. There are 3 grottos, but we only went inside the Blue Grotto. Wish there was an excursion that would explore grottos more. We were also given an opportunity to swim. The water was beautiful (you can see the bottom). So bring swimsuit and towel! The boat is a small boat - and water was choppy. (We felt fine.) When we came back on the boat to swim, they had amaretto, watermelon and pineapple waiting for us. All in all a great tour.
