Snorkeling and Kayaking in Antigua & Beach

Enjoy breath-taking views and be captivated by the astounding beauty of tropical hills and farm lands on your kayak & snorkel eco adventure of Antigua.

Your friendly driver will take you on an eye-opening drive through the lush tropical rainforest and to small fishing villages. Your destination is Cades Bay where you will begin your kayaking journey.

After a safety briefing and introduction, you will be given your colorful kayak where you will set out through the picturesque mangroves on the pristine waters. The mangroves are a home to birds, aquatic creatures and also acts as a nursery for the plants as the mangroves play such an important part of this ecosystem on this and many other islands. Your guide will share with you a wealth of information as you kayak Antigua, explaining the relationship between man and nature.

If you do not wish to kayak, there is a beautiful boardwalk built through the mangroves and you can take a guided walking tour through this same area. Your guide will explain all about your surroundings on this personalized walk.

Once both groups meet at the beach, all guests will then travel to Cades Reef by boat. The reef area is one of Antigua's most beautiful spots for snorkeling and swimming. The calm, crystal clear waters lap gently to the shore of a beautiful and secluded beach where if you do not wish to snorkel you can simply sit back and relax.

A complimentary fruit or rum punch will be waiting for you as well as lunch served from a local beach-side restaurant. After your time at the beach, you will take the boardwalk back to your waiting vehicle and be returned to the pier area and your ship.

Perfect combination

We throughly enjoyed our day. We got to view the country on our drive to the mangroves. Our guide took us on a short kayak through the mangrove to the beach. There a boat took us to the coral reef. Both the guide and drive shared their knowledge. I liked how the guide actually went with us around the coral reef.a traditional lunch at the beach was a nice touch. We even had a bit of time to dip into the ocean.

Good value

The excursion starts with a 30 minute car ride across Antigua. The driver was pleasant, could be a bit more sharing of Antiguan info. The kayak portion was a bit short, kayaking thru mangroves. Good care was taken for the snorkel component. The swell was about 3 feet, enough to get water into your snorkel on occasion, stragglers were admonished to stay with the group, then finally sent back to the boat. Another boat of snorkellers showed participants without buoyancy belts, one person got into trouble. Our excursion was very cognizant about safety. Would definitely recommend them.

A true adventure

It was such a treat to Kayak thru the Mangrove trees with our guide. He was outstanding!!! He did an excellent job of pointing out a plethora of interesting facts about the Mangroves and the wildlife that inhabit it. After touring the Mangroves, we joined our boat for snorkeling. Our guides again excelled! They made sure that our safety was paramount! The snorkeling was wonderful as we were able to see a multitude of sea life. The guides would dive down and point out different species for us to observe. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone that is interested in the beauty of nature!! Very diverse with Mangrove and Sea life.

Question -Snorkeling Time
December 30, 2019
I didn't see a place to ask a question, so I'm asking in this area. How long is the snorkeling part of the excursion? One review says it's "way too short" while another says the time frame is great. Thanks in advance!

Kayak/Snorkel/Beach

This was wonderful. It was cheaper through the ship 's excursion. But was sold out. We wanted our entire family to get to go; so we booked this. How lucky were we. They were so attentive, funny, friendly and just made our excursion so much fun. It was so worth paying the extra. At the beach, we got a nice lunch, included. The kayaking was fun and the snorkeling was terrific. Our group ranged from 17-79- and we all loved this trip!
