Aysen's Lakes and Lagoons

On your journey, you will be transported to one of the most remote and isolated regions in the world. Learn about the differences in infrastructure between this and other ports you may visit, view life as a local, and enjoy the adventure that awaits as you explore the rugged terrain of one of the most beautiful locations in Chile. Make sure to take a rain jacket with you as the weather in Aysen can be quite unpredictable!

You will want to bring your camera to capture postcard-perfect pictures on this five and a half-hour tour of this beautiful biosphere. From Puerto Chacabuco, you will take a car ride along the famous Simpson Siver and cross the longest suspension bridge in Chile, called the Punte Ibañez. From here, the first part of your tour will take you on an off roading adventure as you're taken deep into the Patagonian rain forest. Your off-road ride will take you to one of the largest lakes in Chile, "Lake Riesco." Upon arriving at this beautiful lake, you'll have the opportunity to try a typical Chilean aperitif called "Pisco Sour." As you sip on this delicious drink, feel free to take pictures of the local scenery and take in the sights!

From here, you will be taken to "Puerto Aysen," where you will visit the "Plaza de Armas," for a quick restroom break and a chance for you to take some pictures of the local scenery, including the "golden gate" of Aysen.

After your short break, your vehicle will take you on the second off roading section of your tour into a famous valley called "Valle Pangal." This unique location is a reserve that is home to more than 70 species of birds and local flora. You'll then head to a beautiful 40-meter waterfall called "Del Leon," where you'll have the chance to relax and take in your surroundings. Famished at this point? Well, you'll be in for a treat as your tour includes a picnic consisting of a sandwich made of regional meat or veggie burger, wine and (or) water, and even another pisco sour--if you'd like.

After the picnic break, you'll then be taken to a famous lagoon, which mysteriously appeared in the region after a devastating fire in 1935. As you walk further down the path, you'll come across beautiful views of the Andes Mountains and cross a suspension bridge, so make sure to have your camera on hand!

Admire the impressive Andean Mountains before your return trip back to Puerto Chacabuco. Sign up today to experience the beauty and majesty of Chile's Patagonian rain forest.

Only 4 of us on this unbelievable tour. Tour guide & driver were fabulous. Spent as much time as we wanted at each location. Even stopped to allow us to photograph flowers and plants. Great lunch at a organic farm.

Beautiful scenery, natural, with good guide and driver. Explanations of the native people and history as well as uses of some of the products from the land. Some remote and scenic spots.

Amazing views, amazing guide

Tour date 2/7/19. We were met at the dock by Angelika and team and whisked away for an amazing tour. It was immediately obvious Angelika really loves showing the beautiful place she lives with everyone. She is extremely knowledgeable, and is easy to understand. It is a fair amount of car time since the beautiful views are spread out, but we did make frequent stops to soak in the views. We spent quite a bit of time in remote locations to enjoy the sights without crowds, so as a result this is a "pee in the woods" tour so that is the trade off for getting to see areas most others will not. This tour was the highlight of our South American ocean cruise.
