There are many exciting things to see, such as a the scenic view of a muskeg, some of the ten varieties of edible berries found on the island, viewing an old growth forest, and potential sightings of the king of the island: brown bears.

Based on current bear movements, feeding habits, and daytime temperatures, there are short stops in key locations to scope out a magnificent view of these captivating creatures, and your wildlife guide knows them all. They will also share information about the area and the Tlingit Native population.

Juneau Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier Tour

Your Juneau excursion adventure begins with a short drive to a scenic harbor. Here, you will board a mammal-friendly jet boat equipped with water jet drives to ensure a quiet underwater operation without dangerous propellers that may frighten or harm the animals. The boats have an enclosed and heated cabin, complete with indoor plumbing. In addition, the boat only holds a maximum of 40 guests. There are large viewing windows and an outdoor viewing deck, providing an up-close and personal experience while you observe and photograph the animals in their natural surroundings.

On this Juneau excursion, you will be on the boat for approximately two hours in an area that the whales frequent every summer.

Returning to land, you will travel further into the valley to see the only "drive up" glacier in Southeast Alaska. Once you arrive at the Visitor's Center (entrance included), you will have approximately 45 minutes to explore on your own. Enjoy an elevated view of the glacier across the Mendenhall Lake, see the exhibits, or watch a short film about the Juneau Ice Fields. Yukon Rail and Bus Adventure

Departing from Skagway, your train will make the approximate 1 hour and 45 minute climb, following the Skagway River up to the White Pass Summit. Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this Scenic Railway of the World was designated as an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark (along with the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty). The three-foot wide narrow gauge railroad climbs almost 3,000 feet in the first 20 miles, with an average grade of 2.6%, and up to 3.9% in some locations. It also passes through two tunnels and travels over sky-high trestles and bridges. Comfortable restored and replica passenger coaches are pulled by vintage diesel locomotives. Each heated passenger coach has large viewing windows and a restroom.

After arriving at Fraser, British Columbia, you will be transferred to a comfortable tour vehicle where you will begin your amazing scenic journey on the famous Klondike Highway. During this Skagway excursion, you will make several stops at various points of interest for memorable photo opportunities. Ketchikan, Alaska, is a small city that directly faces the famous Inside Passage, known as a popular cruise destination. It is the state's south-eastern-most town and is known for its many Native American totem poles on display throughout the vicinity. You can experience snow capped mountains, salmon spawning streams, waterfalls and rich wildlife including bald eagles and black bears.

Your day of discovery into this charming city starts with a short Ketchikan city tour where you will drive by some of the area's many salmon canneries and learn about the salmon industry. From town you will make your way to the Eagle Point Education Center. Here you will have the opportunity to see eagles in their natural setting and see a native carver working on a totem pole. After eagle point you will travel to Saxman Native village where you will be greeted by the largest collection of standing totems in one location.
