Your guide will be waiting at the terminal and will guide you to a free shuttle for a four-mile ride the city's edge, before transferring to an air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic 25-mile drive to La Rosada pink lagoon salt flats to witness its pink waters. After a brief exploration of the salt marshes and its pink lake, you will again board the air-conditioned vehicle for a 5-minute drive to the ruins of Xcampo.

Xcambo is an archaeological site considered by experts to be one of the largest pre-Hispanic settlements in the Peninsula. Xcambo's primary function was to provide salt for the Mayan empire, reaching its peak development during the 250 and 600 AD; salt is still being produced in this place today.

Xcambo was also known for craft production, and trade was commonplace in the city. Your English-speaking guide will introduce numerous structures, while providing background information and local lore as you explore. Surrounding a large central plaza are ceremonial sites, small pyramids, and platforms including the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of Sacrifices, and the Pyramid of the Masks. Your guided tour and personal exploration will last for 90-minutes before heading off for a 2-hour beach break and a visit to the TechnoHotel. While visiting the beachfront hotel, you will have access to all its amenities, including the pool and poolside bar, luxurious beach chairs, umbrellas, palapas, and showers.

Included in this tour is the entrance fee to Xcambo ruins with a private English-speaking guide, entrance to the private beach club and use of its facilities, a Mexican all-you-can-eat menu. There is also an open bar serving beer, soda, bottled water and mixed drinks of tequila, rum, and vodka; kayaks are also available for rent at USD 10.00 per hour.

There is nothing for you to do but have fun and relax.

Beautiful day
May 23, 2023
Carlos was kind and an amazing guide. Our group of 4 was slightly grouchy and hungover. Carlos treated us with kindness and care. By the time we arrived at X’Campo our moods had lightened and Carlos had us laughing and forgotten all about our headaches. X’Campo was an amazing learning experience. Carlos gave us so much information and you could see his pride in speaking of Mayan culture and history. I highly recommend this excursion. I plan on going back to Yucatán and wish Carlos could be my guide for my entire visit

Edgar is awesome!
October 12, 2019
Our tour guide, Edgar was very kind, professional and knowledgeable! We loved seeing the salt flats and Mayan ruins!! Seeing the flamingos was an added bonus!! Edgar deserves a raise for having to deal with some belligerent drunks on our bus.
