Recommended Dress We recommend wearing a swimsuit under comfortable, seasonal clothing and closed toe walking shoes. Guests should bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a beach towel.

Restrictions Guests must be able to get in and out of the transportation, and use a ladder from the boat to enter and exit the water. Participants should feel comfortable in water and know how to swim. This tour is NOT wheelchair accessible. The minimum age to participate is 6 years old. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Your Costa Maya snorkeling tour takes part just off the shores of Mahahual where our experienced snorkel guides will locate the best snorkeling site for the day. Onboard your boat you will be provided with all necessary equipment and life jackets for the excursion, after a safety briefing you will enjoy supervised snorkeling making this adventure a memorable one.

This area of the barrier reef is extremely rich in marine biological diversity and a highly productive breeding ground for many species of tropical fish and nesting turtles, Eagle rays, eels, and lobsters are commonly sighted, and is home to them all in beautiful, thriving coral gardens.

If you've never snorkeled before, this Costa Maya snorkeling excursion is the place to start. Extremely well protected from the open ocean, this location offers a safe and comfortable environment for novice snorkelers. You will have several types of flotation devices at your disposal to help you get your confidence up. Experienced snorkelers will be dazzled by the variety of marine life and coral. You will snorkel in small personal groups, and a guide will always be in the water with you. When you have finished snorkeling you will be taken to a beach area for some relaxation time before you are returned to the pier area.

Out of the ordinary - off the beaten path

We’ll organized with successful handoffs along the way. Ultimate diving experience was professional and enjoyable. Great captain and guide who spotted several unique items to share (conch shells, moray eel, starfish, etc.) Decent equipment as well.

Beautiful reef and sea turtles

There were four us on this snorkeling excursions. While in the water the reef was beautiful and we were able to see a sea turtle and a baby sea turtle. The guide was great in the water ensuring we saw some amazing sites. The opportunity we experienced was that 2 of the people hadn't snorkeled before and the guide didn't give them the needed snorkeling instructions.

Excellent Excursion

Small group (4) per 2 member guide team. The guides were very good with first time snorkeler in our group. The guide pointed to a ray and tortoise on the bottom. The guides knew all of the best areas for colorful corral and fish. Had time to swim and relax after snorkeling. Very good day.
