Recommended Dress We recommend wearing your swimsuit under lightweight, comfortable clothing. Proper footwear is mandatory. A change of clothing and a towel is also suggested and can be left safely on the bus.
Restrictions Guest must be in excellent physical condition and confident swimmers, as this active excursion involves climbing, hiking, and navigating slippery, rocky, and sandy terrain, including steep inclines and declines. For safety reasons, guests with limited mobility; heart, back, or respiratory issues; recent surgeries; pacemakers; or those who use wheelchairs, canes, or walkers may not participate. Pregnant women are also not permitted. Participants must be at least 11 years old to ensure the proper fit of safety gear, and all guests are required to wear the provided helmet and life vest. If a participant or guide determines someone cannot complete the entire experience, that guest may either hike with a guide to the main natural pool to wait or return to Base Camp to rejoin the group later. A local guide will accompany the group throughout the activity; however, Damajagua Park policy requires all smaller groups to merge into larger ones. On cruise ship days, participants can expect a maximum of seven waterfalls, jumps, and slides, depending on weather and river conditions. Any changes to the route are at the discretion of park officials for safety reasons. Guests may purchase an optional photo package from the park (approximately $50 US). To participate, all guests must sign a waiver upon arrival at the meeting location before departure.

Damajagua Waterfalls Excursion in the Dominican Republic

Damajagua Waterfalls is an exhilarating adventure not to be missed in the Dominican Republic. Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Cordillera Central mountain range lies a natural treasure you won't find anywhere else in the world - Salto de la Damajagua.

Your adventure begins just outside the main gates of the Cruise Center, where you will be greeted by your Welcome Team and your guide. From there, you'll embark on a narrated countryside drive to the Damajagua Base Camp, located within a lush tropical forest.

Upon arrival at Base Camp, you'll have time to use the facilities before receiving important information and safety instructions. You'll gear up with your helmet and life jacket, then cross a river bridge and small streams to begin your journey.

The adventure continues with an approximately 45-minute uphill hike leading to the first waterfall, where you'll jump or slide into the refreshing pools below. Official park guides are stationed at each fall, slide, jump, and climb. Please note that some of the higher jumps have paths and ladders, allowing you the option to walk around if preferred.

Your return to Base Camp is equally thrilling, as you jump into a series of natural pools, swim through narrow canyons, and slide down cascading waterfalls carved into smooth limestone by centuries of flowing water. Back at Base Camp, you'll have time to change and view your action photos taken by the Damajagua Waterfalls' photographer (available for purchase, if desired).

On the return to the cruise center, your guide will make a quick stop to grab some delicious, fresh-from-the-stalk bananas at the colorful local stand. To top off your day of adventure, enjoy a festive ride back with lively traditional music and complimentary, free-flowing rum punch.

Please note: To participate all guests are required to sign a waiver on the day of the tour after meeting the local representative.
